I’d say the same thing as LS happened. Reality set in.
Getting 20 min per game as a freshman at any D1 program is good. Playing time couldn't have been the issue. The coaching change came before she even got on campus.

If you are on both lists? Then you did it right.
          Really dad?

This is a soccer forum, not an AP forum. We’re comparing soccer, not academics.

There are 3 schools on BOTH lists. That was the op's point. Those kids made good soccer AND academic choices.

Sure 20 mins in every game is great for a freshman. But it wasn't 20 mins in EVERY Game. It was 20 mins avg in just 7 games that she appeared in. There were 11 that she didn't play in bringing her per game average down to the single digits in mins.

And that's On a team that didn't win a single conf game and only 3 wins overall.

Interesting coincidence that the story over at Umass Amherst is exactly the same.

This has been well documented on TS. She got the full at Fairfield while at YU. The Fairfield coach was also her ODP coach. He was/is a CFCU coach and his condition for the scholarship was that she join the ECNL team to get better competition. She did.

After her first ECNL showcase (Jan - FL) she rescinded her commitment to FU to test the waters with all the big schools populating the sidelines, certain in her ability to land a Power 5 soccer school.

Just one problem, the ECNL competition was too much for her and her stock fell precipitously. No full rides, and no power schools. Got some good partials from some good schools, including another from the ranks of CFC D1 coaches. And so she ended up at UMass Amherst.

And now another CFC college coach has thrown her a life raft. Again.

Yankee filled her with dreams of greatness without the tools to back it up. She would have had a real impact at FU. She will as well at SH.

The other player mentioned at Wagner was also Yankee. The Uconn redshirt transfer was a CFC player. Uconn was a reach for her, she will be much better served at SH.

He took the offer AFTER she told him that she was no longer verbally committed to attending FU. It’s what coaches do when a player rescinds, everywhere, in every sport.

YU filled her head with delusions of grandeur, played her on any age group she wanted that fit her schedule, no-tuition while at Yankee. The only small dose of reality she got was from JN at STJ. You would have thought playing 2nd fiddle to JB for three years, and then again to JM in her last would have corrected it.

                      It didn’t.

Not to mention if you chase the soccer now, you will have a crappier job then you would have had you paid attention to the academics rather than the $7.5k/year in athletic money!

YU hasn't sent an impact player to a higher level program in a long time. That's why the FU coach wanted her to move up a level - so she'd be better prepared to play for him. Ultimately she made the choice to re-test the waters. It didn't work out obviously but hopefully now she'll be in the right place.

I love all the idiots that think they know things they couldn’t possibly know unless they are the person themselves. A number of half truths and no truths out there. Wish the kid luck and move on. It’s really none of your business and certainly has nothing to do with YU, CFC or any club.

She had 75 goals in the smash ‘em up derby called HS soccer. She’s got game.
