    EDP vs CCSL

Brackets are out for Connecticut state leagues. Some interesting clubs in both leagues. I think soccer in the state would be best served with Everyone in one league with P and R. As it stands where can you find the best talent and is it deep? We already understand that ECNL and DA are for the best teams and leagues so please hold your comments regarding those. Just interested in comparisons and thoughts on these two leagues.

CCSL is a town travel league. You must be new here.

Not true. CCSL is definitely a step up from cjsa or wysl. It’s not EDP d1 or NPL but it’s a good league.

CCSL is turning into what CJSA was when it went downhill.

Interesting comment. Better than CJSA town league? Here are some of the town teams I found listed in CCSL:

          Fairfield
          Trumbull
          Shelton
          Guilford
          New Canaan
          Ridgefield
          Greenwich

It seems like all the town programs are migrating to CCSL. EDP (partnered with CJSA) is getting many of the state Premier clubs. I think what will start to happen is weak town teams will stay in CJSA, stronger town and weaker Premier will go CCSL , and stronger clubs will go EDP and NPL.

ECNL and NPL have town programs...

Isn’t East Meadow a town travel program with and ECNL badge?

This league was created with a regional money grab philosophy, the current director insulates existing clubs by not allowing new access. Meanwhile, there is no pressure on existing clubs to win in order to maintain status.

How either Rush, Ac Ct, or Southeast don’t have an ECNL Branch after all the winning they’ve done in State is silly. East Meadow is town program, what makes them special?

ECNL has marketing wizards as they somehow have College Coaches Capitalizing off league and that’s the secret to their success, selling the false dream.

East Meadow is not entirely made up of kids from that town. They pull from several towns and capitalize on the large numbers from these communities. East Meadow has been around for decades. ECNL and DA are the strongest leagues with many excellent clubs.

But are those their "premier teams" or classic travel? Even if travel some of those towns have good travel teams at the younger ages until older kids start to move into club. Younger kids shouldn't be traveling all over for games anyway. CCSL might stay a good option for ulittle teams. But when the landscape seems to change every few months who knows any longer

CCSL was a great option when it was only premier. Then they let in all the town travel teams because CJSA did a horrible job. Now most of the quality teams have moved to EDP CT because of pathways to EDP 1 & 2 based upon performance

Its year 1 so we will see. Then some one else will introduce another super duper league next year. It's so tiresome. I haven't been involved with youth soccer that long but can recall a time not that long ago when we all weren't racking up car miles to get decent competition

The premier teams were tired of losing to town premier teams so they had to leave CCSL because the parents were starting to realize they were paying a premier price tag for less than premier coaching and development .

CCSl seems to have NY premier clubs coming ti play so either that is a good thing or grossman has some business deal with them they cant get out of.
