If you eventually think u want nycfc, play for a Rockland north Jersey or possibly westchester club instead of wc
    until U14.

That is insane and Fury should be punished for that and the DA should make it clear the players can't play until next year.

          Sounds like expectations weren't clear.

We've been told our club will always be looking to get better. If there is a player out there that can improve the team, they will try to bring them over.

Sure, makes some kids nervous. That's how it's supposed to be. Play well, dedicate yourself and improve. If not, there's lots of other leagues for you.

          Tough world out there.

WCFC still has a leg up because of ECNL starting earlier. They can gobble up the talent from clarkstown, torpedoes, etc. in the U13 transition.

This is DA-speak for "the talented players can play HS soccer in the fall and we will welcome them back with open arms when they "tryout" in the fall" ..... happening all over the place because the DA model doesn't work (on the boys side either .... see prep schools). The funnier thing is that the trash getting kicked aside now for those HS players will come back next year and still sing praises about DA because, as placeholders, they can still say they are on a US Academy team. Keeping up with the joneses .... nuts!

Why is it nuts? people can do what they like. If u don't want to play at a particular club, don't.

What does nycfc have to do with LI soccer? Alby, lisc, Susa, em....pick your poison. Nycfc has nothing to do with it.

Kid plays in CT at the moment, but we have been curious about GDA and NYCFC since inception. Not sure I want my kid to deal with that situation though, based on all the negative commentary surrounding NYCFC and their (perceived) lack of commitment to GDA.

Stick with NYSC, they are closer and more your speed.

Because DA STRICTLY FORBIDS HS PLAY .... except for good players who can do whatever they want, whenever they want .... all you need to know is that if your kid has asked to play HS and was not allowed to (but others on the team were given waivers ... or returned later after a fall tryout), then your kid is not someone that US Soccer is concerned with and is merely a placeholder and financier. It just infuriates me that US Soccer puts in so many rules and regulations and then fails to observe them for all players. It will be the cause of their demise. I don't believe that the paying customers will tolerate these double-standards for more than a year or two before their eyes are truly opened.

We have a few girls from LI, so it’s relevant, if you’re tired of that landscape, perhaps you should update your ezpass...

Yes. They are closer...but what is meant by "more your speed"? I am simply evaluating options for my daughter. I am not bashing NYCFC, but based on the commentary on this site it seems that NYCFC GDA may not even be around next year.

I think the issue is that of being honest with the families when they join. if they are told when they join that this can happen it would be all good. Some clubs, though, don't do that. They are sneaky, underhanded and lie. Create a poor culture.
The families are paying money for training to the club , travel expenses, etc. the clubs arent paying the players so they have to put up with drama like being pro or in college .
