Where are they going to college?

Without people posting anything other than initials, club and college can we get where kids are going. There was a google site that was great but it's no longer updated.

FSA, CFC , Oakwood and Yankee im sure will be able to start hopefully a good list

As consumers it IS our collective business since these clubs charge an arm and leg with one if the biggest selling points being college scholarships.

Then you're a fool for believing it. Placement lists are readily available on club websites. Scholarship details are between families and the schools. Any claims about $ cannot be verified and should never be believed, especially if posted on Talking Soccer. I see few clubs claiming anything about $; it's always just about placements. If you're in this for the $ you're likely to be disappointed.

Eh. Placements or scholarships, that's semantics. Bottom line is these clubs promise college soccer.

                GET THOSE LISTS ON TS.

this is hilarious. I have never heard a club selling scholarships. Just doesn't happen. You can't look at a U12 and see a scholarship. The kids that earn them are the usually the ones that work the hardest. And in most cases you don't see the work they put in at home or when their friends are at proms or running telephone poles at night in the summer. It doesn't happen at the clubs, in most cases it happens because the kid wants. Small touches in the basement off the wall, drilling the garage door, dribbling the ball to the bus stop, soccer tennis... see if you see any of those kids walking around.

Well one club has from time to time. But the rest have their lists and simply say this is where our players are going to play or are playing now. Often the lists aren't 100% accurate and there's clubs that "claim" a player that might have only played there for a year. Easy enough for anyone to look at on their own. These lists usually turn into club bashing threads and even bashing kids' choices.

If a player wants to play in college it isn't just about landing a spot but the likelihood of playing. Examine the playing time of prior club players. If you see very few being impact players (or maybe never even playing at all) then either the club does a poor job recommending what programs to target, or does a poor job developing players.

You certainly can see some at 12- you just have to be honest with what you see
and you see 1000 NOs before you see a YES- but when you see a yes you know it

i have a college scholarship kid and she didnt hit the basement wall- - they play too much
                        she rested on off days

In some cases you 100 pct can look at u-12 and see a scholarship. Its that obvious. The rest of your post is sadly the fractional minority. The College demand for players is far greater then the number of kids doing what you imply.

Fist it needs to be determined if playing college soccer makes sense period. Just because you could get a soccer scholarship does not mean you should.
