Time on the field in the season is more important than making the tournament.

Better to be on lower quality team but play more?

I dunno. I mean, we are talking college athletes who are all going to stop playing the game competitively soon. At this point, I'd rather have the line "Competed/Won an NCAA Title" or something similar on my resume vs. "Played on a crappy team in college, but played a lot" line.

                        Younger ages, true.

Who won the title? The bench player or maybe the one who played 7 minutes all season. I guess it's a team sport but somehow if someone doesn't play is it really their championship? They did a really good job of clapping all season!

The density of that matter between your ears must be formidable.

You seem very willing to discount the many many hours of sweat those bench players put in during training to push the starters to be their very best. They make all the same sacrifices and get just a pinch of the reward.

So yes, it's their championship as much as the player who has the most PT. If you don't think so, go ask the player with the most PT what she thinks. Ask her if the bench deserves the championship as much as she does.
