Yet another obvious failure of the broken pay to play system....this is a kid who can clearly play better than most others in the state, which again was the topic...nobody said she has to be better than ecnl, just repeatedly shines in ri high school

The one true authority has spoken. We must have the president of FIFA right here on TS, what a privilege!!!!

[QUOTE=Unregistered;2146139]News for ya, buddy. RI high school D2 soccer is teenage rec league. It’s low level soccer. Whoever she is she’s not proving anything.[/QUOT
The kid is probably just having fun playing a game she loves, not caring what others think about, while she has losers like you ripping on her and now the whole division.
So what it proves, in fact, is you are a moron, since she will be recognized for talents you are oblivious too.
People whose opinions matter=awards and recognition
Your opinion=steaming pile of crap

As the top team in D2 it is sad to see someone dismiss the level of play, basically for the state. D1 is a better level since many of the teams have bigger pools to draw from and can assemble a stronger top 11. To think that the top couple kids from D2 teams would not start on virtually all the D1 rosters as one of their best 11 is a joke. Talent does not magically stop at town limits.

D1 does not = best players it means larger talent pool and possibly more better players.
D2 (and D3 for that matter) can contain players who would start on top D1 teams. Players do not magically become the "best" due to being on a top team. There's just more of them.

With that said, there are no MKM type kids out there currently who are dropping anyone's jaws so it is a bit unfair to act as if all kids who play premier are always that much better. D1 and the top 1-4 D2 teams play very respectably for high school soccer. I've watched mainly D1 this year, but have caught a fair amount of the D2 games of the top teams.
People who have kids involved in premier typically get very defensive when awards go to non-premier kids, as if they can't possibly be worthy. I simply enjoy seeing any kid who can flat out play. If you feel they are stealing the recognition that you had been counting on, perhaps your child needs to work harder.

EP and Johnston would do just fine in D2; Scituate and Burrillville might be in the bottom 3rd of D1, but they would be competitive at least recently. There are of course a few players from the top D2/D3 teams that would start on a D1 team..they just wouldn't shine as much as they do..it's more consistency of feeder programs and the fewer proportional losses to the privates..

Best of luck to the top 2 programs of Burrillville and Scituate, the measuring sticks for the rest of the division the last several years, despite relatively small enrollments. Well done ladies!

Two great teams. Lets not discount the fact that MB kept Situate to 0-0 for the majority of the Semi - that game could have gone either way.
The top 4-5 teams in D2 are all very competitive and it makes for a great division.

Almost seems as if none should move up, since 2 are already coming down, and would only add to the strong 4 currently holding the top spots. That would give 6+ strong D2 teams

Burrillville came out on top, although a shootout is the most horrible way to end any sporting event.
