He'll never acknowledge that reality. Doesn't fit his agenda.

For starters, GPs don't work 80 hours a week. That's partly why they choose GP.

Ok, let's call it 60 plus occasional weekends on call. Point is mds aren't all getting rich, reimbursement rates have gone down which has forced greater patient volume.....ever wonder why you are waiting an hour to see you dr when you have an apt? trying to squeeze in as many customers as possible, gets them behind quickly

If they wanted easy they would have picked dermatology, Good luck getting into that specialty though

I went to a meeting several months ago about joining an Accountable Care Organization called "ACO 101". The very first slide was titled "Why are ACO's necessary?" and the answers was "40% of the state's annual budget is now tied to healthcare costs" followed by a long narrative how health care costs must be controlled and reduced. No one's paycheck in health care is going up and most providers are going to see theirs stay stagnant while their workload will shoot through the roof.

What exactly does this have to do with Boston Breakers and soccer?

                two things:
                1. If you play pro soccer you may need medical care sooner rather than later
                2. If you play pro soccer you'll need a second career. Consider it free advice.

Being a pro soccer player might end up paying better than medicine, but only if you don't get drafted by the Breakers.

Just love how BTNT has decided, and is now aggressively selling, that pursuing medicine is a stupid, ridiculous endeavor that only a very stupid minority would choose. He will do absolutely anything to defend and promote his own changing realities. Including coming on and saying he hasn't been posting but rather only looking at threads lol.

You are an extremely unpleasant person. For what it is worth my wife the MD essentially talked our daughter out of pursuing medicine. Like a lot of physicians our age, my wife doesn't like the direction medicine is going in and actively shared her opinions with our daughter. My youngest is on a pre law track now but that doesn't invalidate what I wrote about the academic supports at a place like Duke. You kept claiming that being a D1 athlete kept a kid from getting an education as part of your twisted D3 agenda and if I remember correctly your point of view was that they couldn't get into grad school and would likely end up flipping burgers at McD's. For your information, one of the local girls on the team just got accepted to a top med school. You can flail away at me all that you like but I know first hand you that you haven't the foggiest idea how anything works at the D1 level and do nothing but spread misinformation. The only reason this is even a topic in this thread is you have a sick pathological need to prove that your kid's D3 choice was important. Who cares?

How long until the Boston Breakers franchise folds?

Just saw this post. You didn't address your serial lying.

And no, I never said a serious academic kid couldn't do something serious academically at D1. Told you a thousand times. Never said a word about flipping burgers. I'm sure your kid will do just fine. Now you're blaming your wife. Talk about face-saving. Fascinating to watch you walk back your crap.

Face-saving is right. There is no such thing as pre-law. Not a single prerequisite.

Oh, so another kid got into a top med school. You didn't get to her in time to talk her out of it??? What a total fool she must be. Med school? What a friggin joke!

                                Exactly right.

And there are no guarantees in that field either...

Have your child follow their passion not some career path you think will lead to wealth.
