Waiver for privates should be challenged in court.

Why? They're already used on the boys side. But some clubs won't grant them because of the obvious issues/tensions they cause. The other glitch is that in theory privates shouldn't be giving monies to play. Athletes would have to prove in court that $ is for playing, not "academic" or other. Schools definitely don't want that info getting out.

Agreed. I'd live to see a map of clubs. Seems more cluttered than ecnl. I know they loaded up in areas where they have drawn from in the past but the southeast still seems underserved and I can ecnl booting some clubs and actually expanding.

ECNL relegated overnite.... Assuming HS soccer takes a hit. Anyone's guess as to what will really happen.
Oakwood is too close FSA ...

Why? Because it's not equal treatment. Just because someone cannot afford private school doesn't mean they should be treated different. And don't give me the athletics requirement for the privates argument. That can be waived as well.

Quote from the CT board captures what I think a lot of people are thinking at this point:

QUOTE=Unregistered;1882091]Or if you'd like to call it as it is...that is one crap heap list of clubs. The GDAP should have stayed small for the first few years. Focus on quality instead of quantity. Which ironically, is what they have preached. Instead, they have a bunch of B and C level clubs combined with the B teamrs from top clubs that remain in the ECNL. And for all of that, they expect you to give up high school and deal with large rosters with only 3 subs a game.

Brought to you by the same idiots that killed the ODP program in the country, these people clearly did not think things through. A handful of clubs the GDAP announced as being in, have pulled out once they realized the ECNL was forcing them to choose. Others will follow is the word on the street.

The real interesting thing will be seeing what happens when ENPL ramps up.[/QUOTE]

Be interesting to learn what the Stars end up doing. They have to be feeling like they are caught in the middle.

They've already reaffirmed to the ecnl to stay, for the next few years at least. I suspect they will keep their toes in both waters until it all shakes out.

Interesting what BBA does too. They got their ECNL designation this year an GDA starting next year. Wonder how that will shakeout with their players/teams coming through NEFC.

That will be interesting too. The ECNL affirmed for beyond next year about a dozen or so. A few powerhouses didn't even apply and were public about it. And they have added a few new ones. With 17 Cali, 8 Texas 7 Fl and 8 NY/NJ teams, the USSF has left a ton of open space. I think the ECNL is poised to clean house of the deadwood and expand into voided areas. Some of those ECNL clubs accepted today are dogs and probably won't be missed.

Agreed. GDA went for quantity over quality. (Ex: CT Location: Oakwood/NPL mid range club). This over saturation is exactly the reason they deemed the ECNL league insufficient. They were trying for a corporate hostile takeover. Instead they acquired the surrounding, failing, mom and pop shops...including their over priced, under achieving inventory. Add in the fact that they took away "job security", claim no guarantee of hours and dictate all extracurricular liaisons. How many idiots do they think will buy into this lipstick on a pig?

You are underestimating the draw of the National team this and national team that. They put the players and the clubs in their marketing material and here they come.

If that were not a powerful sell, ECNL would not have used it so heavily.

Not sure why anyone would think USSF will not F this up.
