Hardly think any preseason losses, regardless to who it is, will be too heartbreaking for Braintree or any other team

No, but it will be a bell weather for unmet expectations

All you D2 and D3 parents should come to grips with your station in life. There's no shame in it.

Station in life - views of Hingham harbor or Braintree train yards and gravel pits. What would you choose?

There is shame in being an alleged D1 power and taking a loss to a supposedly less talented D2 program. Scrimmage or not, that is what Braintree is on tap for.

In a scrimmage, there is no shame for the loser. Same for summer league. Some coaches are using scrimmages as part of tryouts, others to try tactics, others to minimize injury risk, others to use players at different positions than usual, the possibilities go on. No reason to conclude anything from a scrimmage, especially if not there in person and know the teams.

When is the big Hingham Braintree scrimmage? Any other interesting preseason matchups? Curious about the Needham reload

Honestly? When did they finish tryouts? If the season opens Labor Day how on earth are they jamming 9 scrimmages into the next 11 days??

A lot of these scrimmages are jamboree style with 40 minute half games

That's pretty typical. Weymouth's schedule would seem to leave Mon, Wed and the following Tuesday as their training sessions before first game. First game is Dedham, which they can win without training, but then they have Newton North. Predict NN and Weymouth will tie on Sept. 9.
