    Tyler Baarts or Steven Evans

    Their coaching style, personalities, etc.

I think they are both pretty new at this. You must be looking at a U16 boys team.

Steven will be coaching with Cony so expect x-country training to be large focus as well as the tahuichi offence. Personally, I really like Cony (likely to get flamed for this).

I don't know Tyler but since it is FC Portland it most likely will be him overseeing other coaches in the pool system.

Know both from my son playing with them and against them in ODP and in club soccer.

Both come from nice families, nice personalities.

Tyler's background is full FC Portland and UP His dad coached at Southside (?) before FC Portland and at UP.

Steven grew up playing for Eastside and Westside, and also played at UP. Also signed as MLS Homegrown Player for Portland Timbers.

Steven is coaching girls and boys at Westside this year. His dad coached at Eastside and Westside.

Tough choice. Both good guys. Good players, and will be good coaches this year.

I also like Cony as well. When he puts his mind to it, he can run some of the most amazing practices. Unfortunately, those are not consistent.

He sets up the training program. The coaches are instructed on what to do. If they don't follow his instructions then there is inconsistency and you need to let him know about it. He is great at following up or explaining why he might change the plan for a particular team. Sometimes teams will have to adapt to change for a reason.

My son played on his first Usonians team and they had to learn new systems several times. It taught the team a lot of things well beyond the field. It helped my son adapt to different coaching styles in ODP and in college too.

He would coach my daughter's team some. Some practices were awesome, others not. But he cares about the kids and soccer. The WST boys program is definitely very strong.

Fcp coaches generally care less about their players and instead are really good at selling nonsense to ignorant people. Find a great statistic on the players Fc touts as their success when they spent all their years with other clubs while their own players keep getting shuffled down while still paying.

So not true. Sorry your kid didn't make the cut, again. Maybe next year.

That would be 03 girls Stevie's pretty new at coaching and Connie is not really well-liked on the girls side which is interesting why he coaches on the girl side so much . If you're relying on Westside timbers to develop your daughter you should think twice good luck!

Both come very good pedigrees and come from great families but that doesn't always translate to being a good coach. Michael Jordan best player on the planet and worst coach ever .

Tyler is a young coach. His daily training is fine but his game management is so so.

Steven is also young coach but with Cony on his wing, he will do just fine

I wouldn't expect Cony to be there too much. He has a lot going on. Although Steven's dad will be coaching the 2002s so he will probably be around.

My son played for TB. Super nice guy who knows nothing about coaching soccer. Fine player, great role model although clueless on the technical and tactical aspects of the game. Basic drills done incorrectly. Most good players think they can step into coaching.

Interesting. For one thing, "Stevie" hasn't been called by that name for about four or five years now.

Are you the person who has always spelled Cony's name as Connie.Sounds like you haven't even been around this club for quite some time. Cony treats all of the players the same and for those people that can't handle the training they opt to leave. Which is fine. Everyone has to choose what works for them.

My daughter played for Westside from U10 - U18. Her team had their own coaches but also trained with Cony and also with sometimes with the boys' teams. I watched as some of her team mates cried at the training and their parents were mad and escorted them away. Some would complain to the office and some would leave the club.

The Allen Family has been involved in soccer for a long time so Steven knows soccer. He has helped at numerous soccer camps as an Eastside and Westside player, a Central Catholic player, a Timbers player. I'm sure he was mentored as a UP player as well.

So whomever posted against these two men must have a personal vendetta against them which should be considered as such.
