We're playing at the ECNL. Everyone else please stay indoors.

"These Recommendations should be used as a supplement to any local guidance issued by the relevant state or municipality where each club is located."

In other words - these recommendations will have zero bearing on actually playing.

While we all desperately want high school sports to return, the return of school itself is much more crucial. Bringing extracurriculars back will increase risk of exposures and having to shut school down again. Bring school back for 2020 and wait for extracurriculars to return in 2021 is the smart compromise. As much as my children live sports, they’d rather have school with no sports than no school at all. Most serious athletes are playing club sports anyway, and perhaps club sports could return sooner with the ability to control social distancing and liability issues much better.

For all those soccer fans out there do not get your hopes up as it is likely that kids will not be on field this fall in any group setting. Governing bodies are trying to combine fall with spring so that will make for some unfortunate conflicts. CIAC will likely need to amend it rules to permit non scholastic play if student is registered for premier programs or attending camps / college visits which may conflict.

Again the un-recruited rising seniors will suffer the most from these issues as they will need to make visits and applications to schools by deadlines likely by end of 2020 calendar year. Spring HS soccer will conflict with premier and currently CIAC prohibits co-current play. Other states permit so reference to ECNL permitting is only relevant to non high school players in CT.

For underclassmen they will have time as college programs will have regrouped and be looking to fill open roster spots that 2020's could not fill.

Kids are not affected by COVID. The data is clear, much lower mortality than seasonal flu for kids. Those > 65 only need to be very careful until vaccine which is more and more likely by end of year.

On what fields? Hahaha. CFC and FSA both own their own facilities. They dont need permission. If the state is open and ECNL decides to move forward then they will play.

Club sports do not have to follow same guidelines as public schools.

FSA High School summer league, directly from their website:

COVID-19 Update: This league is currently on. Please see adjusted dates below.

May 13, 2020 Update - view full posting

The current State of Connecticut guideline will permit the facility to re-open effective June 29, 2020. This date may change as the state and CDC recommendations change, however, for planning purposes, we are using June 29th as a target date to allow for scheduling of summer leagues and camps.

The response to re-opening has been extremely positive with teams/players excited about resuming play. We are encouraging people to sign up and will issue a credit in the same form of payment if State or CDC recommend an alternate re-open date.

FSA is currently implementing recommendations to protect our spectators and players. To date, policies will include strict cleaning and disinfection protocols in all settings, temperature check stations, limiting of spectators and requiring masks for non-participants. As the CDC releases additional guidance, please continue to look on our website for updates prior to visiting our facility.
