the problem with all of these lists is that they are incomplete

is a kid who commits to an IVY going because of the soccer offer or are they a legacy and were always looking to go there and worked their tails off to get in
is a kid who is going to Iona only going there because thats who offered for soccer but had the academics to go ivy just not the soccer part

every kid has their own reasons for picking a school and location ,major, finances etc.... all play a role in the decision

I can tell you this at least for womens soccer, a kid going to play at an ivy has the grades to get into the school without soccer and the cash to pay for it

that being said -well done by all the kids on the list and i hope they have a great time in college with or without soccer

An argument could be made that united is too congested. There is but so much room for players with just 2 teams. Raising the level of competition in the other branches gives more players more access to higher level competition and potentially acess to college.

To what level of competition? Branches aren't going to get into ECNL. EDP or similar is about as far as it can go. There's some exposure there and players do get recruited, but to lower level programs. You also won't see a whole roster of EDP kids getting recruited either, just a handful at most of the top starters who also worked really hard to get in front of coaches. Certainly it's much better to play a ton on a lower level team then sit on a higher one, but just know that that also comes with limitations. It will be harder to get your foot in the door and the level of competition you're playing isn't the same.

Just as an aside, and I am not a CFC parent at all, it is really weird the amount of talk about "cfc dads" on this thread. The more someone talks about a bunch of dudes in a circle jerk, the more suspect that person is. It's real strange.

Statistics prove season after season after season that most kids who play college soccer play in lower level programs. Of course, it all depends on how you define a lower level program in the first place.

that is the reason you keep sending in your checks-you think you can buy the foot in the door

coaches look for players, and players are in every league. do more kids come out of ecnl? yes because the bulk of good players play in that league, but not all of them
and it gets proven every year

agreed- what is an upper level program?
                  top 25?
                  top 50?
                  top 100?

The Oakwood 07’s are getting great training and are getting better each week. Don’t judge them off a few results. Wait for a awhile to see how well they gel in the spring

Wow, that and a $2600 check will make your 2007 (or 2008 or 2009) a starter on this team.
