Red is the practice kit, which they put player numbers on.. Sometimes they use it for a 3rd option in case of playing teams with similar colors but officially its the NYCFC Light Blue for home and Grey for away. I doubt anyone joined up because of the uniform.

Is a National Team Virtual Invite the same as getting invited to the YNT National Training Camps? Looks like WCFC got 3 invites to the U16 virtual camp.

Only difference is because is virtual, they invite a lot more. Over 100 invited, I believe

How would they do a virtual camp? Via zoom with a ball? Gotta be more to this, that would be a waste.

Good question. I would also be curious to see how can that be a meaningful experience. At the level these kids are at, everyone has good skills so that rarely separates players so i am not sure how zoom with a ball can be used for them.

Nycfc is doing youth girls talent centers. Maybe starting a real academy again at young age groups like red bulls does?

Of course. They are in the business of soccer. But why just a few random age groups? That seems disruptive by design and pointless.

Why would do this? Just canabalizes more kids from youth soccer clubs in whatever markets they go into. These mls clubs should stay away from the girls unless they are going to provide equal to what they do for boys. Girls do not need to see themselves as second fiddle to boys. No thanks.

Especially given their past history - they were one of the few MLS clubs to go into GDA and their teams were good, then they dropped it like a hot potato.

They should leave the girls be.
