It will be interesting to see the dynamics and differences between ECNL and the GDA this season. It will also be interesting to see how the Virginia teams do in each league.......

GDA will ultimately "win" out. It will simply be a matter of time before the top ECNL players still in ECNL move over to GDA.
If you were already in ECNL and well into the college scouting process it is probably best to stay put but the 03's and 04's have a tougher decision and 05's and younger won't likely look to ECNL as the first stop.

I think it is so much more localized than GDA versus ECNL. It really depends on the quality of coaching. Both leagues try to say they are the best, but it just comes down to which team has the better coach for your kid. Also, licenses mean almost nothing. My kids has had a few B-level coaches that are terrible and non-licensed guys (but previous players and fathers) that were great.
There are major flaws with both leagues.

GDA always had an uphill battle, late to the party, against the (top) clubs self interest and run by an organization already supplanted and rejected. So no surprise it is struggling (kindly put) for a very simple reason - the goal of the TOP players, as a group, is a top college, not the incredibly rare WNT slot. And this is what ECNL provides.
