      Key injury in Weymouth

Weymouth's big goal scorer is out for the year. that said they will still be one of the better teams in the Bay State.

Was anyone at the Wellesley Weymouth game? Would be interesting to know who looked like the better team.

Weymouth started well in the first 5 minutes but Wellesley style simple took over as they overloaded the middle of the field and released the outside backs. Weymouth couldn’t handle it and dropped too deep allowing Wellesley free space and time for services leading to the first game. Any chance Weymouth won they ball they were too deep and couldn’t counter attack. Both teams looked talented but Wellesley looked more in midseason form already. I’d probably say they are the top two teams in the league but who knows with Wellesley and a new challenging schedule this year with Brookline, Framingham, newton North twice.

It’ll take about two weeks before we can gauge any team this year besides Braintree and Milton who look awful

It looks like the Baystate is going to beat each other up until an eventual winner is declared. Is there a favorite? Maybe Weymouth or Wellesley will prevail.

                        Wonder when the replay is.

From a purely neutral standpoint would be better if it were at least a couple weeks from now; really don't like the early season games in the hot weather...on turf to boot.

Off topic: who has a grass field at the high school level that is well-cared for? Framingham is the only BSC team that plays on grass and their field is terrible..does anyone else have a good one?

Walpole and Newton North also play occasionally on poor grass fields. As for the league this is a big week to see how the league will play out and give a good indication on who will be contenders this year.

                            Carey vs Herget

Not that it makes a big difference in the post season but the two divisions are anything but equal. The Carey division is much stronger this year. Was there a recent realignment or is this how it has been?

Yes Norwood left this year so instead of making big school little school divisions they broke it down by location.
So ideally there should be less travel be the teams.
Bad thing with Norwood gone now most teams have to find non league games if they want to make it to 16 or 18 games.

Watch Weymouth vs Walpole last night. Weymouth looked very good and created a ton of chances but couldn’t finish, Walpole’s keeper also came up with about 4 ridiculous saves to keep the game close. The game Finished 1-1 with Walpole scoring its only goal off a long set piece served in by their keep maybe 40yds out. Keeper is Walpole’s best player by far.
