If you have a top end female player it’s FC Stars, NEFC, Scorpions or Select. End of conversation. And with the DA debacle, the talent is rapidly heading in one direction.

For the USYS MA State Cup (not the NEP/US Club Soccer State Cup), how are teams selected? I ask because it’s entirely NEP and NSL teams, and some weren’t at the top of their league’s bracket. Where are all the top town travel league teams (BAYS, SCSL, BCYSL, etc.)?

This isn’t a tournament, it’s supposed to be a State Cup sponsored by the state organization for US Soccer, which governs soccer in the US. As it is, you’ve got 2nd or 3rd ranked NEP teams playing 3rd or 4th ranked NSL teams and the town teams that make up the majority of clubs affiliated with USYS are totally absent. Why not just have the #1 teams from the top bracket of every league in MA, from club on down to regional town leagues, play for the cup? Sure, some might not take the invitation and elect to play elsewhere, but if you made it meaningful I’m sure you’d see some better competition than this.
State Cup should only include top teams in top leagues.
You don't have the A, AA, AAA, and MLB teams competing for the World Series.
I'm fully in favor of an Open Cup, BTW
