So now that SoCal is abandoning the DA, NorCal has never really been in DA, and Washington is going ECNL, who is left?

Maybe the thorns younger teams will not get torched as bad this next year?

Truth is they applied and got rejected.

      Nice try spanky.
Nearly everyone predicted the HS ban would be an issue. Even initially USSF tried to ban it, clubs balked (because their customers balked) so they gave a grandfather period. That was supposed to be 3-4 years, then they rescinded that and it lasted one year. The HS ban isn't the only issue with GDA but it is a significant one, particularly as the league isn't panning out in terms of quality. So why give up HS if worst case ECNL and GDA are equal? In many areas it's not even that, so again why give it up unless you want to? Giving up HS was always an option if a players just didn't want it. But most do.

Oregon doesn't having an elite players, so all is good in our State! No local clubs were accepted and the DA is only running with the pro club Timbers/Thorns. Not a talking point in our state. What state are you from?

Oregon is a disaster. All the best players are scattered. Best players are playing high school. Thorns aren’t helpful. It’s sad.

            Just have fun.

It’s unfortunate that we can’t get the top players to quit high school, but girls live HS soccer. Soccer should be a serious pursuit.

Then make a smaller league for only serious players. USSF underestimated the draw of HS and are paying the price for it now. Most (not all) girls want Club + HS = college.

Oregon isn't affected by this myth. Many of the top Oregon HS aged girls opt out of OSAA HS and play with the DA in both Oregon and Washington.

It would be useful if you wanted to support your sentiment with a list of top Oregon players that are committed to just HS and their neighborhood local club teams. If they are indeed top players US Soccer & the DA program should know about scouting them and invite them to the top youth tier if they are candidates. They are welcome to refuse of course. Otherwise you can't be taken seriously.

Across the country the top clubs dropping out of DA because their girls want to play high school. DA will quickly drop from 2nd tier to third tier in many areas.

High school is fun and you get crowds at your game cheering you on.

Yes - Didn't Tophat, Real Colorado, and FC Dallas just drop GDA for ECNL?

This couldn’t be further from the truth. The #1 player in the state played HS and so do a lot of other top girls

She didn't realize US Club decided to make money off this welfare athletic landscape via travel leagues and parents delusions.

This has nothing to do with playing HS. It's about parents who have been played by con artists, selling what is free for the taking without travel or cost.

                              Suckers United.
