They were the best team in the tournament. That's saying something.

Only shake up was a booster left and moved his kid. Club is actually standing on its own now and is expected to grow this summer.

will turn out to be a huge blessing for the club in the long term...took the severely over-hyped coach and some serial club jumpers with him. other shakeup was that another parent who essentially held ADF hostage over the past year by using some very talented players as pawns finally left. positives all around.

Hope ADF survives to provide an alternate path for boys that choose it.

Kids that want to join the circus. There's more to the game than isolated technique.
It's all about winning at ADF. Absolutely. Nothing. More. Than. That.

True there is a lot of emphasis at ADF on technical especially in the younger years. It's what sets it apart from every other club, and why parents other clubs send their kids to the academy for the high level technical training that their own clubs are not offering. Nothing wrong with that. Most families chose ADF to specifically get that technical training now.

There's sooooooooooooooooo much more to the game than technique. How? When? Where? Are what's more important. The cognitive side of the game is what's important. Being able to complete three different moves in a stationary position with no pressure applied is training to be in the circus.

Technical ability is 50 percent of the game. Kind of hard to teach quality tactical to a group of twelve years olds with a lousy first touch and no quality of ball control. That's called bootball. Younger years should be heavy on technical.. next comes tactical..

agreed. LOSC is a great example of the opposite approach. pure tactical at the younger ages equals lots of wins and at least a full year for your player to catch up technically when you inevitably jump.

Ditto for all Crossfire affiliate clubs

This isn't true. There are players from LOSC and Crossfire clubs who are just as technically proficient as ADF kids. Being able to run through cones does not equal technical proficiency.

ADF likes to bash LOSC because it is one of the clubs it recruits heavily from. Bash LO, convince the parents their kid isn't receiving the proper technical training, and get them to switch to ADF. It is the same kind of marketing used car salesmen use.

                            Cruyff on technique:

"Technique is not being able to juggle a ball 1000 times. Anyone can do that by practicing. Then you can work in the circus. Technique is passing the ball with one touch, with the right speed, at the right foot of your team mate."

                            And...

"Someone who has juggled the ball in the air during a game, after which four defenders of the opponent get the time to run back, that’s the player people think is great. I say he has to go to a circus."

People who don't understand the difference are the ones who believe in private trainers, ADF, etc.

It is easy to see your kid getting better st dribbling through cones so people throw money at it.

Actually a lot of kids from LOSC attend the ADF academy because it's known for technical. They meet other players from there and eventually just enjoy playing with kids of like mindset and ability so they leave LOSC for other clubs. The only ADF parent that used to bash LOSC has jumped for the 4th time in two years to another club.

Not sure how you aren't proving the original poster's point, ADF parent.
