points fall off 100% after the event ( same event ) is completed 1 year to the date afterwards. Meaning this week if you received points last year from state cup, southern regionals you will lose your state cup points this week.

    A "coach" cannot "keep" points.

Also if they add new players from other clubs and decide to go with 2 teams and the one team takes new players and the 2nd team gets the ones from the last year the points follow the kids that played on the team before. no points follow the new players they must start new. because it becomes a new team. must have 50 percent returning kids to keep the points coach has nothing to do with it.

well just wait and see but if the coach of the 00 team is smart he will claim the points since he will have the majority of the kids from the year before. but don't put it past the 99 coach to cheat he does it all the time always taking players never developing and sticking with that team. Its the last year for him to have his glory #1 rank and really win a tournament out side of FL. Good luck to all getting recruited its harder than just being on a good team.

This happened with my child's team last year. They were at one club, ranked by GotSoccer in the top 20. The team left, 20 of 22 players, for a new club. The new team had zero points. Once the players were re-registered with the new club, the GotSoccer points transferred over. Ranking reinstated.
Points do not follow you to a new club. That is a blatant lie.

They should rename this forum Talking Idiots...

This is right from the GOTSOCCER FAQ page. Blatant lie or are you IGNORANT?

                  3) My team has recently split up and two team were formed from the players. Who gets to keep the points?

We award those points to the team that meets the following requirements:

•Their current roster has at least 50% of the players from the team in question
•The players from the team that has split up make up at least 50% of their current roster

                  OR

•Their current roster has at least 60% of the players.

If there's a very close split we will also take into consideration when the players were added to the previous roster and how that relates to the points in question. For example, if a few players who are now contributing to the current roster were added to the previous one in May, but all the points accumulated were from events held earlier in the season, we will not consider them as part of the roster when making the decision.

The coach is not considered a player. The coach is only taken into consideration in the event of an even split, with both teams having 50% of the original players. The points would go with the team that also kept the coach. If the coach is no longer with either team then neither of the teams will receive the history.

If no team is eligible for points then neither team will keep the points.

                  4) My team has moved to a new club & is playing under a different team name. Can we keep the points from our previous events?

Yes. The requirements are the same for this situation as they are for a team split-up situation (please see roster requirements listed for #3 for details). While we realize the vital role that a club plays in their teams accomplishments, the rankings points & history are awarded to the players who were on the field for those events. If a team retains the required 50-60% of players, then they are eligible for the rankings points & history.
