They should have put it in Tampa... would have practically given them the land and buckhorn would walk around jerking beckham off whenever he wanted.

But they proposed putting it in the rowdies stadium in St. Pete... because every MLS team wants to play in a 30 year old minor league stadium with no room around it to expand.

interesting lalas podcast, doesnt sound good for US soccer in general does it. Man we have gone back 10 yrs, what happens when we miss qualify for world cup again. My prediction MLS will fold up in 5 yrs, no interest

MLs will not drop academies, building talent is completely worth the investment

They will get their stadium in melreese and DA in lockhart

despite everyone on here, they will be successful.

                              Jan 21 podcast.

That’s not even close to what he said at all. Not even close.

He said...that some MLS executives wonder if it is worth the financial investment in the academies vs. just going out and spending money on a player you know you want. However, they feel that it would be the wrong move because it would signal that the franchise is not serious about the team they put on the field and would be poor optics for their market.

Bottom line. Development of talent is expensive and not being able to really profit on that investment by selling the product of your investment is a big problem and a bad business model.
