Not affiliated with Brandon at all but amused by these two teams bashing each other.

However, what you describe above happens all the time at every club. But usually it is due to poor attitudes of the player or parent. The fact that you are posting on here claiming your child is better than some other child is a pretty strong indicator of poor parent attitude and likely why you child is on the 2nd team.

This statement unfortunately is 100% correct. Players at tryout did not get evaluated solely by their skills and abilities. The coaches blame RS for selecting the teams and RS is pointing the finger back at the coaches. Nice way of doing things BAYSL. Nothing has change.

Read the entire thread before making an dumb statement like you did. Everyone was saying praises for both teams.

The sad thing is... is that BAYSL seems to have a reputation as a 'recruiting club'. This has been said by other un-named clubs. This does hurt those players loyal to the club from moving up the ranks. There really is great talent on both teams, but it is ashame that Yellow players are always 'second best' because of the new recruits season after season. It doesn't seem it would be in the best interest of the player to club hop, but each to his own.

Sooo...are they loyal and play favorites or due new players come in and compete and take others positions. I can't imagine that the new players can have any connections that would help them get selected over a known commodity already at the club. Can't have it both ways.

This is life. Prepare you child for life. If they are not good enough in life, they get replaced. Plain and simple.

Your child apparently competed at try outs and was not good enough to make the first team. Often teams make mistakes with the first few on the second team and the bottom kids on the first team. But seldom do they make mistakes with the very top players and even the middle of the road players. Did the second team players have any opportunities to play with the first team last year? Did the clearly outshine the first team players? Are there attitude issues with the child or parents of the second team players that think they are better than the first team players(agree with other poster if you are on her complaining this likely is a huge factor as most coaches don't want to deal with problem parents or players with attitude problems that negatively affect the team. What about positions? Is the first team loaded with players for one type of position and lacking in other positions. This may be a factor if the player on the second team only plays a position that the top players on the first team play. Many many factors go into picking a team. It is never perfect, but complaining about it on talking soccer seems to me like some serious parent problems and the most likely source of your child not making the team. So, probably best if you look in the mirror, adjust your attitude and try to repair your reputation at the club so that you child will have a chance to get selected next year.

Second teamers will never have a chance to move up to first team based on skills and that is a fact. Half of the first team is there because of the 'favorite' status. There is no loyalty at BAYSL.

Really!?!?! If that is the case, why did the Yellow team coach from last year constantly try to promote players to the Blue team? Try remembering how many players were given opportunities to play with the Blue team, sorry you probably can't count that high.

Really....one is alot! You are full of it. SP is the one who promoted one to blue and demoted one to yellow the entire season. PG didn't do squat.

Note the parents involved in both moves. Nice and understanding. SP was all about not having to deal with wacked out parents. There were two kids that could have been on the Blue team if not for attitudes of parents and their kids!

the wesley chapel players got like 2 minutes of playing time

I am not from the Brandon area. Which team is the better team? Blue or Yellow. Is one the A team vs. the B team? Looks like they both got spanked in Disney, however, looks like yellow is playing up to U14. Anyone with more info?
