All of the match scheduling, the hiring and training of 16 year old futsal referee's + produce the all important OYSA futsal card. It's simply an incredible deal crafted by the gymnasiums. Let me make this as clear as possible, OYSA is not making a dime on their 'fiend rental' of basketball courts from the 4 gyms. After oysa expenses, they will be in the red on the deal and the Gyms will be cashing checks for months. Not to mention the (middle men) clubs who also profit on the deal due to parent apathy & ignorance. This is what happens when private business takes advantage of clueless state youth org. non-profit. Can anyone say the OYSA and a 'contract'....heard that before... Timbers contract anyone? History has a way of repeating itself.. . Now Parents can enjoy driving the 50 mile congested freeway loop each weekend just to play futsal in a random gym this winter.

Long live private and public partnerships!
Oh, good Lord. What sort of nonsense is this?

OYSA, last I checked--is in the "business" (in quotes because it's a non-profit) of running soccer leagues. And you're complaining that someone is taking advantage of them because... they are running a soccer league, and paying for field rentals? (Or in this case, court rentals)?

You forgot to mention all the money-grubbing referees out there who have cleverly tricked OYSA into hiring them into officiating games, both indoor and outdoor.

Hey, if you want to run your own futsal league, and think you can do better, nobody's stopping you. But this has to be the most ridiculous thing I've read on TS all week.

But sorry that youth soccer in Oregon isn't structured around your particular preferences. It must be horrible, not getting exactly what you want at a rock bottom price. Don't know how you get out of bed each morning.

It's a Joke, plain and simple.

With this paradigm shift by the OYSA, renting our worn b-ball courts at high retail costs from private vendors and getting next to nothing in the exchange. It follows that the clubs that supply their inventory of multi million dollar turf fields for various OYSA leagues will keep at least 1/2 of their league registration pd to OYSA..since 1/2 of their games are played on their own fields.

What is the OYSA doing? Quite the precedence..

OYSA is setting itself up for extinction. Crazy stuff.
