Lots of kids are probably waiting to see if they make the rosters for other teams first.

Yeah so what. Mind your own business.

You don't want to release a list and have 70% of the kids turn them down. That would be embarrassing. I don't blame them for waiting.

It would be dumb to release the lists before kids confirmed.

What a mess. Feel bad for thorns kids soccer staff trying to make lemonade out of this.

The thorns kids soccer employees are stuck in a bad spot.

The GDA playing time guarantee should help draw in kids from low level oysa clubs that aren’t getting playing time.

Daughter's classmate plays ECNL and also made JV2. ECNL does have "elite" talent.

Lots of Freshman ECNL'ers made all league and state teams last year. What's your point?

Lot's of freshman girls from numerous clubs made all league & all state. Our local clubs (CU & FC included) have the only kids playing in HS Soccer, the DA doesn't permit HS play. Seriously, what are you trying to say?

Guess what all these local clubs also have freshman & even sophomore girls playing JV2 as well.

Lots of JV2 players should be considered "Elite" talent. ECNL has quite a few apparently.

Thorns DA frantically making calls looking for a league to compete in as GDA is crumbling. ECNL said no. Back to FWRL

What age group? If she's a senior and is on JV, not a good sign. If she's a freshman, where's the problem? Some coaches won't let frosh play varsity.

What is your point? Playing with a patch on your sleeve doesn't insure quality. There's plenty of poor quality players in GDA as well. Depending on the size of the school and strength of the HS program many good players won't make varsity straight away, and as someone said above some coaches won't put frosh on V teams mostly because of politics.

Why do you keep posting this on so many threads? If your only point of reference about girls' soccer is your "daughter's classmate," your knowledge is pretty thin.

Several girls who play B team club soccer made varsity at our high school. What's your point? Although I see the importance of girls playing high school soccer for the memories and the value representing your school, it's hardly a measuring stick of quality soccer.

JV2 is C team. If you find your daughter playing on this team (even as a freshman ite sophomore) , and your daughter made an ECNL roster, then you're paying for 9 months of crappy ECNL development. The counter theory could be that ECNL backfill rosters with anyone who can cough up the money. Probably a little of both for FC ECNL and the latter for CU ECNL. There are very few HS coaches that would provide the training of ECNL, GDA, or the better OYSA coaches. I'd rather have full years training in a club environment than 9 club plus 3 Iffy HS months. This gives an an advantage to GDA. Even if you believe that GDA is playing in a league that they can't compete every week, the fact remains that these girls are getting more touches on the ball throughout the year. Personal development doesn't have to coincide with successful team results. This is not to say that GDA didn't have moderate success last year. They did. Less so than CU ecnl and more so than FCP ecnl.

No problem. Just saying she is not "elite" if that is the case. High school varsity soccer is not good. High school JV soccer is much much much worse.

No problem with not being elite. Just don't go on here pumping your chest about playing ECNL.
