The cold hard reality though is that if your kid is not widely recognized as one of the standout players in the area by the 8th grade the chances that they will go on to become even a college level player is really slim to none. Sure there are always outliers but even those are usually not the surprises they appear to be. Take for example the well worn Michael Jordon story that so many cling to as the quintessential example of the late bloomer. It is actually based upon a lie that he was some unknown that became the great Michael Jordon after he grew 6 inches between his sophomore and junior year. The truth about Michael Jordan is he was always the known as best athlete in his area from around the age of 8-9 and had he not grown that 6 inches he might have gone on to be a professional baseball player instead. So perhaps you and your little engine that could fantasy might be the one who should take a time out.
You have diarrhea of the mouth. Lots of good players scattered around different leagues and teams. Simply take a look at the commitments pages of NEFC and Stars girls. You will see plenty of kids that will be playing in college at ALL levels. The 2nd teams of these clubs have kids playing low level D1. To the OP, friends of ours have an ecnl level player that reached out to a private school (and no she was not sought out), was accepted to the school and will be playing in the fall. It is a day school. Her club is absolutely willing to work with her and the schools schedule. She’s a mid level player on her club team....

Your point is what, that the kid was smart enough to get into a prep school or that she was good enough to get recruited by one? There is actually a huge difference. You also need to recognize that prep school is not D1 college and that the coaches are usually only going “get” 1 player a year (if not every couple years) so while a kid might be D1 college caliber it doesn’t mean that are necessarily good enough to move the prep school meter. Suggesting that the prep school coaches don’t know know who is who I’m any given year really paints them as incompetent when they really aren’t.

My friend, prep schools admit kids from around the country and around the world. If you really think that prep school coaches know all the soccer players from Arkansas (or wherever) you are sadly mistaken.

Stop trying to twist this thread into your usual "your kid is s***" . No, everyone, just because a prep school coach isn't knocking on your door, it does NOT mean your kid is s***. Even though our resident troll really, really wants you to believe that. Then he wants your kid to stop playing high level soccer.

Nope: small, not that good, crazy parents. Did they wave the waive the entrance exam?
