    Which do you prefer?

    Example 'A'?

    or Example 'B'?

Easily example A is easy on the eyes, example B is what US soccer strives to be

B- This is how the US youth system plays. Boot it over everyone to your fast strikers.

OK, I admit I'm generally in the A camp, but a quick 9-second, 3 touch 100-yard goal can be something.

That first touch by the striker in the B highlight was sick.

One does not preclude the other. Both are great in their own way and great teams can do both

Teams that can play A's style can also play B for a quick counterattack and still play the majority of the game as a possession team. It only requires a fast forward and a GK with vision.

Teams that play B's style may not be able to change tactics and play A's if they don't have the technical players, composure under pressure, movement off the ball, etc.

Learn to play possession, then learn to adapt to what your opponent shows you on the pitch. Unfortunately in the US it's win-at-all-cost and so most teams don't learn how to play possession ala A's style. It's Route 1 soccer for most...

Well said. MCity, clearly a possession-based team, has no quarrels with playing direct if that's where the space is:

Like it as much as you like, nobody in this country and very few in the world, can play like that.
Nice to watch, though Liverpool do that every Saturday-the Arsenal, not so much.

The question was only around personal preference. Nothing about the quality of the team involved or how it could go all wrong.

Just a question on which style you prefer.

Not certain example “A” is a style as much as an opportunity. It really doesn’t matter how you score so long as you do.

Agreed. My kid's youth soccer was a lot of B. Now she plays A mostly. Situational decisions for sure.

Again, not sure why this is so hard. Which do you prefer?

Knock it around for a while until they are unlocked? Or, hit them before they have a chance to set up?

Klopp once mused about Wenger about their differences. What it came down to was he viewed Wenger's tactics as the Opera. Beautiful, flowing football vs. rock and roll. Both were excellent, but he preferred the rock and roll.

                            Wenger gone, Klopp ascending.
And who even goes to the opera?

You are hung up on the nuances and not the question at hand. Klopp referenced is when speaking of his personal preference when he was at Dortmund.

(About 270 million people per year go to the opera)

And, apologies for the attempt to drift away from the dlck-measuring that goes on so much here.
