If west pines can legally charge me $100 for not selling all my raffle tickets and that's a big if, they better provide me with $100 worth of raffle tickets after they charge me!

well that is the point, they dont actually expect 90% of the families to sell tickets, but to but the tickets themselves, a not so hidden fee. The garage sale on the other hand is a laugher. Saw they were dropping prices for a booth, not much interest there I expect.

Chargers Soccer Club do the same thing. Even on the Rec. side. It is a big cash cow. They include it in there registration.

The question u should be asking is what is wp going to do with the funds they receive for the raffle
Stop complaining

Parents should not be FORCED to fund raise for another team. Supposedly the money raised goes to u16 and u17 to enter tournaments. If the u16/u17 want to enter tournaments they should fund raise the $ needed. Why should all parents and players be working for them? Last year the U16 girls didn't even sell their allotted tickets yet got more than $6000 from the rest of our hard work. This is a fact shared by a parent on last yrs team, how is that right?
U12 boys raised enough $ on their own to go to Columbia. This is how it should be!!
If WP wants these teams to go to these tournaments maybe they should fund the trip not do it on the backs of the rest of the players and parents.

[QUOTE=Unregistered;1144507]All the money that is raised goes to all the teams in the club, not just 1 or 2, it goes to teams travelling in state cup, region cup, and many other things. Its funny how 1 or 2 parents don't get it, and go and start bashing the club saying they will sue and how the club wants the money all to
THE STATE CUP AND REGION CUP HAVE ALWAYS BEEN PAID FOR BY THE CLUB WITHOUT THE USE OF A RAFFLE.
The raffle was created last year to fund showcases for u16/17. Those are the only teams getting money unless a team sells all their allotted tix and they get $500. Which we all know is impossible to sell all ur allotted tix. Case in point, how many teams sold all their tix last year and got $500.... Zero.
BTW if you think its just "1 or 2" parents that are upset about the raffle and being fined for not meeting a "quota". You don't have the pulse of ur own club. You can't step on the practice field without parents voicing their displeasure and discussing recourse. Just check out the number of views to this thread in a short time.

I was a team manager last year for a girls team. We didn't sell all our raffle ticket but sold over $2000 and didn't get the $500. It's wrong that the money gathered went to the older kids who didn't even sell all their tickets. This needs to change. If the club doesn't want to pay for region cup and state cup anymore like it aways has maybe we should be reimbursed some of our registration money. They always paid it before, I have had two sons go through the club and never had to pay for region cup or do a raffle.

1 or 2 parents are upset? My wife is a team manager and the parents are all very upset about being charged an extra $100. Some parents have three kids in the program they're going to be charged $300 right before the holidays! My wife is also upset about being required by the club to "turn in the names" of those that didn't sell all their tickets. The club should do their own dirty work. What if she doesnt turn in the names of parents does she get fined? This is all ridiculous, each team should fundraise for themselves and all this would be avoided.
