How did West Pines get into R3PLE? Weren't they kicked out of state cup for forfeiting games?

The bigger question is why West Pines would sign up themselves. If they quit last year because of the travel why sign up again?

I guess nobody wants to play R3PL at U18 and they took whoever applied. In past years it was hard to get in if you weren't at least a state cup finalist.

At U18 it is about getting college exposure for some and others having their last fun season.

OK we played in U18 R3PL last year and the fact is that it did nothing for college exposure if that is your goal. The boys that got recruited did so at Disney and IMG showcases.

But the boys did enjoy the level of competition and most said it was the best competition they had in their youth soccer careers.

That is pretty much what I would have guessed. Good competition but nothing from a recruiting standpoint. At younger ages you are chasing ranking points, but not really an issue this year.

That might have been true last year but the FSPL appears to have stronger teams than REPL this year. Time will tell.

Heard the Space Coast coaches couldn't attend the games scheduled for R3PL. That sucks you win everything and your club can't support you. Bet the parents must be pissed. Why didn't the team go to another club?

They didn't go to another club because they have the best coach you find. Plus there is no value in playing in the R3PL as a U18 team. No college coaches attend those games anyway. You can get top competition at high level tournaments that college coaches will actually attend.

Obviously your team has never played at the R3 level.! The games in S Carolina are attended by college coaches for the u16-u18 level. Don't worry play in the Florida all, you want...not good enough for R3 except for a fluke win in State Cup.

LMAO you are crazy if you think any of these coaches can attend a league game during their season!! Maybe some crap D3 school might send one of their grad asst. to watch a game or 2. You're a dumb ass!!! No fluke at all!!

you are as crazy as the coaches at SCU any college coach wants their recruits to be tested at the highest level to keep them sharp, not NPL what about FSPL?. Where are they showcasing their talent this year HURRICANE Classic.

I posted the above and we played in R3Pl last year and year before. I can honestly say that it was the best competition our team and my son ever played in. It was a bit pricey with all the travel but over all it was worth the experience. It was refreshing playing different teams instead of the same old teams we played against since u13 and seeing Savannah Georgia a couple of times was cool.

But if your goal is recruiting then I can say that R3PL was not a "direct" factor. We had an assistant from Jacksonville come to one game and that was about it over two years. But R3Pl did help in that it kept us sharp for when we had to play top teams in tournaments.

The reality is that unless you are in DA you have to work really hard to get recruited by a D1 school and your team has to go to top tournaments and advance deep or win to be even scouted by the DII and DIII schools.

Also do not discount state cup as a recruiting tool. Our team made it to the state cup finals in their junior year and Eckerd, UT, St Leo and Rollins did attend our state cup final. St Leo and Lynn did attend our final 8 game in state cup but only to see boys that had contacted then over the season. Again unless you are DA you have to work real hard to get recruited and this is the message I am trying to convey; work hard and it will happen

Finally do not discount your grades and ACT/SAT scores. You can be the next best thing but if you do not have at least 3.0 then your are not playing college soccer. Grades and scores are the first thing coaches asked of us.

Best of luck in your last year and enjoy every minute of it

This was our experience as well. Had two boys - one had the opportunity to play DA and the other did not. The one who played DA had D1 coaches at some practices and every game. The other had to work hard to get seen and then the coaches would stop by a showcase and spend 10 min watching. Both were similar talent (different positions).
