DA stands for development academy but Clearwater doesn't develop.
The Clearwater DA does better this year (at least they are vaverage this year)because of all the players they got from the other clubs especially WFF.
If you want to go to an academy, go to Orlando City. Clearwater is mediocre and the big problem is, they are not honest with you.

If Clearwater truly developed players they would not need to poach from the surrounding clubs.

The some fools who got us suckered into the VSI garbage. Yeah, lets call it what it is. Let's go to England and start a Bucanneers way football youth program. After all, the Bucs are so great. We can parade little English chaps around with the Bucs logo on and sport them like real fools. PURE RUBBISH

LET ME GUESS, THEY ARE PARENTS OF 8 year old rec players who think a Liverpool logo makes them look "legit". Idiots. Next time you see a British soccer gypsy roaming the fields, Congratulate them on their fine World Cup performance, tell them to bugger off and Then check to see if they picked your wallet.

That's a very good question. Not sure why it took this long to get rid of that idiot. His one man mission was geared to wrecking the club. His family/son is #2 on the wrecking the club mission. Board members I beg you to never ever ever bring back another English geek to this club. Take a look at the failure from u18, u17, u18 boys. Not one of those kids are qualified to play div 5 college ball. The current youth academy u9-u11 is dismal! Are we not aware how soccer should be played? A little dribbling and a few kick and run is not the way! Honestly it's not! !
Board members: please be open minded. The failure can be seen through your kid's inability on the pitch. Listen, it's not too late to get these players fix. However, if you continue with the same trainers you will continue on the downward trend.
Wff you deserve better. You cannot continue being a failed club! Let's stop the best down at img cup, Disney cup, state cup, region cup, our own tournament cup. Stop the exit of our u18s graduates leaving with nothing to show for 10 yrs of soccer being played with no scholarship to show and over 80,000 spent on yrs of travel , registration, gas, hotels, food, car transmission, car engine burnt, and the many families destroyed along the way.
Let's Have A New focus. Believe that the current path is a failure. Start a fresh. Fire the entire coaching and especially the training and academy staff. They are useless and a long running failure. You like them but that won't get you success. You need a serious approach to rebuilding.
SAVE THE KIDS IS THE NEW MISSION STATEMENT!
We will reevaluate their direction
We will come up with a plan to giving all senior players a chance to compete at the collegiate level.
We will provide a platform for all junior player to develop while having fun with documented success.
Enough of the failure!
This should be the new yr push and resolution for this club. The board has the power so let's do this!

Since the advent of the USSF Development Academy and the US Soccer ECNL programs, I now generally expect for the clubs with those programs to have the players going on to the Division I college programs. Not having a USSDA program, I no longer expect for WFF to have the best area male players in the older age groups. On the other hand, having an ECNL program, I do expect that WFF will, and does, have the best area female players in the older age groups.

That said, there is no running from the fact our boys group has been in decline and void of any leadership. There is no standard curriculum and it's been a revolving door for coaches (the ones that should go, of course stay); the top spot for boys needs a new face. Someone also needs to bring the various campuses together for NPL and get away from the BS politics where we as parents are no better than the coaches. In Brandon JG and AB are fine coaches and deserve better than the club they coach for.
We need leaders. Starts with the DOC and his two lieutenants running youth academy and competitive. It's been easy to be the 'best of the worst'. TBU is nothing special and a long drive for most, FH has little talent / continues to collect our cast offs, and CLW aside from DA isn't viable given distance and value offered......if FH and Valrico figure their merger out they could be legit to retain their u9 players wanting more.
The poster is correct, it's up to the BOD to make changes (wearing an EPL uniform doesn't count) that will sustain this club for years. Demand more from them.
