    Girls NEP State Cup Finals

Out of 7 age groups, below are the teams in Finals

NEFC - 7 teams, every age bracket
SSS - 3 teams, pretty impressive for a small club!!
    FC Stars - 2 teams
    GPS - 2 teams

Pretty clear that NEFC is top dog with their second teams! Interesting that FC Stars and GPS didn't have a better showing. And the sad thing is most of these Stars NPL players will be playing DA or ECNL next year.....

New Yorker here...same issues on our end! East Meadow, Albertson and World Class NPL teams are a joke, basically "rec level" town clubs that the ECNL clubs "merged" with and handed the NPL reigns to, so they didn't have to worry about the NPL arm.

On top of that, 2 clubs that struggle greatly in a different NPL league (NYCSL NPL) were handed GDA recently. And when I say struggle, I'm being kind. Talk about sad...

Lots of hard work, playing through injuries and teams going in with short rosters etc. kudos to all the teams from the mom and pops all the way up to the big boys - the league will survive just fine - particularly if it opens up to the best applicants over biggest.

          Girls nep state cup finals

NEP is a third division level of play. The issue with this level is that some clubs (like stars) move younger players up. The top divisions are a better gauge of a club "success" than the bottom division.

It looks like 2 'NEP' teams actually made final - by age - high percentage of first teams in and winning on the girls side with tiny SSS in 1/2 the finals. Good luck to all who make it in Indiana.
            04 - Stars Pre-Ecnl v Breakers NPL
            03 - Breakers Ecnl v SSS
            02 - SSS v Breakers Elite
            01 - Breakers NPL v SSS
            00 - Breakers NPL v GPS NPL (5-3 gps)
            99 - Breakers 98/98 NPL v GPS 99 NPL (4-0 breakers)
            98 - Stars Ecnl 98/99 Comp v Breakers 98/99 Elite (2-0 stars)

Actually the best barometer of overall success would be % of a clubs total teams making championship runs across all leagues (Ecnl, Npl, Nep, USYS cup included)

Long game for U-littles on a hot day. SSS is heck of a club development wise.

There are three teams in Mass that play in a league other than NEP/NPL.....So what 5% of girls? Most girls are going to play NEP/NPL so NEP State Cup should be used as the barometer. Funny how when Stars or FC Boston don't do well, it really shouldn't be the measurement...

Yes, but those teams have also qualified for Regional NPL Finals in VA. So in the end they are all in the same mix.

Having trouble developing kids? Sure sounds like it.
