the money is nice but it's really more about control.
Sure, I was just responding to the money part of it. Control is certainly the number 1 issue. The US currently has the top players spread between a whole mess of US Club and US Youth leagues. It's much simpler for USSF if they can force them to all play in a single league that they run.
