Ok u13 parent, let me enlighten you. Oakwood teams are always stronger at u12 and u13. They start to aggregate talent from small local clubs and run out the slow fat kids from Glastonbury that played at the club since YTL.

Oakwood girls teams are from Hartford county. The majority of the best soccer talent in CT is in Southern CT, those kids don't drive to Portland. Oakwood will never ever be the top destination for girls soccer in CT.

You can spin it anyway you would like but the bottom line is that top players in CT play at CFCU. Good luck with the national team though.

Dark ages. Tide is turning my friend. As far as the best talent being from southern ct, how do you conclude that? Is there something in the water there?

Not the OP but it's a numbers game. Look at high school sports (not just soccer)
The majority of the top teams are in Fairfield county. Dense population, affluent towns, highly organized youth programs and lots of resources to throw at them.

It's like having 15 Glastonbury's within 30 miles and all playing in the same league.

There's nothing changing in CT. I know you are excited the OW is in a new league but they are still the B team in girls soccer

NT players are unicorns and families know it. It makes it easier to decide. Like anywhere else families will pick based on what clubs are available to them in their area, who has the best coaching, HS sports etc. With OW being the only GDA choice for many miles and a strong ECNL nearby, OW will only be able to get so far unless they dramatically revamp their coaching. Even then their location is a hindrance for many

Here we go again, fciac has best teams, players, coaches and probably parents...we are all subjected to this every year!

Links below from different topic seems to disprove your claim:

              CT's best for 2017

              https://unitedsoccercoaches.org/web/...ion_Teams.aspx

There are a few kids recognized at the college level here - recognized by COLLEGE coaches.

              NOT one from fciac???????

Maybe once your precious Mia leaves the cocoon of ffld county and you can not pull strings to get her recognition, the bloom comes off?

Maybe these all stars selected by college coaches proves the best players come from all over CT EXCEPT fciac!

You seem very stressed by this. If your kid is recruited there I hope you've been looking into other options

They don't care. They are happy their kids are playing or at least rostered at good schools. Everyone knows college is the end of the line for women's soccer.

No more kids , daughter played and graduated 2 years ago. Team needed a change at head coach and wondering why they are dragging this out for so long...she thought maybe they would hire the AC weeks ago. but at this point that doesn't seem the case.

Could be like the UMASS hire - lots of rejections

Conference sux...will likely be young first time coach or current assistant. Won't be able to lure top tier coach or assistant.

If lucky, it is the end of the line on the boys side too ... many more boys than girls end in HS though.

Sure they will .... its a prime stepping stone for a good, fairly young, ACC AC that has never been a HC before.
