All true, but the stupidity of the USSF publicly using YNTs as a marketing play is just that, The pitch should be superior coaching and personal development. Except thats a lousy sell as well because the folks at the top of the USSF are less experienced than many Club DoCs . The whole thing is a real con. Becoming a better player is not about the nonsense the USSF are trying to sell and there is little evidence that being better will get you selected. Just look at Internationals ( https://www.ussoccer.com/us-under19-...coaching-staff ) . Look at where teh new up and coming starts are now being selected from. Was this club an ECNL power?

When it doesn’t, it’s simply a case of the clueless crew at the top messing it up. The club system and leagues here work. They produce talented players and Cointreau to popular belief, no one is left out due to finances. Clubs always find ways to scholarship them. Just like colleges find ways to scholarship need based students.

It is a large country, so build many, multi-tiered, regional league systems with promotion and relegation. Let the teams figure out where they belong over time. Have inter-regional tournaments and a national tournament for top 2 teams from each division from each region. Players will flee bad clubs and flock to other local destinations and the cream will rise to the top of the A-division. Individuals in the B- and C- divisions will either leave to get to an A- team or get noticed by scouts in cross-division play. Stop trying to build and promote a developmental system. Let the clubs fight it out. The top ones win, as will all of the players and the NTs.

if you forced Clubs to really do a good job or fail, the number of clubs would dramatically fall. It would be great. There si no accountability in this system, just people cashing checks all the way up.

People need to start seeing that the Emperor has no clothes. The last Youth WC win was achieved by Swanson the UVA coach.

That is not popular belief. It has been recognized and analyzed as negative pressure on the success of the system for a long time by almost every one.

Every us soccer person was in Florida, all of them. Even leaders of the boys da were at the girls showcase presenting to the clubs.

so you think that kids are going to play hard and then go straight into a camp.? thats a PHYSICAL conflict. Unless the plan is/was for them not to play. These people are hypocrites and clueless when it comes to the game. Its all one big marketing exercise ....Haiti. LOL
