Who is in the most trouble with the shutdown?

I'm not sure if it is the smaller clubs without much in reserve or the larger clubs with more employees and overhead? How leveraged is Scorps since the buyout? Did some of the bigs spend too much in acquisitions in the last two years?

I hope we get through this as a country and actually get to play some soccer late in the spring, but it's not looking good?

Gov’t will be throwing money at people shortly: loans will be cheap
But no games or coaching means layoffs...clubs will be fine, coaches may not

All of us already paid our fees. The clubs are fine since they certainly will not be issuing refunds.

It should be like what the Dems want passed - money should go to families and coaches, not the owners

You just can’t help but making every single thread political. Go yell at your tv.

Owners are people with families too. Tons of small clubs still out there trying to do the right thing.

Poster has a point. Will club owners take care of families and staff first, or themselves?

We all know what GPS did. The just laid off their entire staff except for a couple of the senior managers.

I agree. These places have overhead (taxes, maintenance, heat) that can't get laid off and sent packing like clubs do with their ex-jock staffs. Not sure they were running big margins at the best of times.

Depends on how they had them built.

Building an indoor facility is really cheap. It's a bitch to keep the lights on and heated, but those are on the cool side anyway. Entirely possible if someone got one built with little to no debt, they are a cash cow now.
