Cmon, man. Soccer was barely in the country when these guys played. Now name a women’s basketball player from CT. All of UConn’s players are from out of state. Women’s soccer has had numerous D1 soccer players that have played in a final 4 and won national championships. Several have gone on to play professionally. You sound like an a** if you think CT is a basketball state. It ranks about 45 out of 50 in the country for hoops. Soccer is top 20.

Maria Conlon as well. Something like CT’s all time leading scorer and she was a bust at UConn.

I appreciate the optimism but at this point I'd be thrilled if schools even re-opened by mid May. If they do, sports and other non essential activities will be frowned upon if not still banned. Want to play LAX in a mask?

How dumb do all the students and parents feel now protesting their ***** to CIAC headquarters??? Some things are bigger than sports.

In fairness to the kids the call was made very early in the crisis. In hindsight it absolutely was the right thing to do, but at the time schools weren't even talking about closing down yet and there were only a handful of cases in the state.

Mine have accepted there will be no spring sports, HS or club. Of course they're not happy about it but they also see the same headlines we do.

The early call by the CIAC may have actually saved lives. Perhaps not the children as much , but the crowds that those important playoff game can be quite large, and Indoors. Plenty of seniors .

Remember that next time you complain about a policy decision. From what I see and know, I would be making plans for next spring for any scholastic sports.

My junior is getting worried there may not be fall HS soccer. Last hurrah and all. Hopefully it doesn't come to that. Assuming it's safe we'd all appreciatesome normalcy.
