I agree with you. We shouldn't, but most who apply and get admitted choose to pay what fin aid says they should pay.

I will take back my grad students statement. The market knows to ask questions like "how many full professors teach...". I stand by my statement that any elite/highly selective college could replace every faculty(1) member with another set of credentialed faculty with little to no impact on their admissions yield. Faculty are a commodity.

    (1) I agree that Shared Governance gives The Faculty power to prevent this from happening,

Why add a NH player to a MA list?

Cuz no one is on NH board and when you’re son commits you want to scream it out loud, just not in the woods where no one can hear

Only 7 boys committed? Put the NH kid back on the list so it looks longer! No wonder TS is 95% girls soccer!

There are more but their parents aren’t desperate for attention like those of the kids above.

Big $$$ boarding school soccer at $80,000-$200,000 over 4 years almost seems worthwhile to get $5,000-$40,000 off your $280,000+ college education. That is, if you get that, or you actually stay on the team.

When you have a kid who gets home from school at 2:30-3:00 3-4x a week (I'm giving them their 2 days of extra-curricular) and their weekends essentially free, then your 4.3 GPA and 1550 on your SAT isn't particularly impressive. Show me a kid with the same academic stats, whose competing in school sports 2-6 hours per day 5 days a week, heading to club practice 3-4X a week for 2-3 hours and spending their weekends with games, and I'm more impressed with them as a candidate.
