It’s not the end of the world.

Okay so soccer games are likely a no go for high school this fall and maybe even youth.
But it’s not the end of the world.
What we can do is talk to town, high school and club coaches, whatever you play.
Ask them if they can increase practices on the club and youth level. Take this as an opportunity to really focus on player development academy style.
Teach kids how to think like soccer players. Let’s go beyond the u little kick ball.
This could be an opportunity to get paid coaches who are trainers involved with town development. Go beyond the volunteer soccer dad.
Games are not that important for the youngsters.
Give them team scrimmages, Give them solid fundamentals.
I see kids even on clubs who can’t dribble without picking up their head. Who can’t kick with their left foot and have no idea how to throw in the ball.
No games? Who cares let’s make better soccer players in our state. We have the college coaches looking for work willing to train.

If town soccer did involve actual trainers, did increase practices and trainings, they would give the pay for play clubs a run for there money. The reason why parents join club when kids are little is for better training, more touches, non-dad coaches, and better competition. The towns if they hook up with pros coaches from like Bryant, Roger Williams, URI, PC etc would be a good plan.
