How does that math work? Sweden has 82,000 cases and a population of 10.23 million so that's about 0.8% of the population that is infected. And New York? The state of New York has a population of about 19.5 million and has about 447,379 cases. That's about 2.3% of the population.

Herd immunity is not a state by state phenomena anyway.

No one is sure how long the antibodies will last and if people can be reinfected. A vaccine may only last so long.

Desantis using the Sweden strategy and hopefully this will behind us in a few more weeks.

You can’t stop the virus from spreading, only delay the inevitable peak and recession. We will be done when it starts to move into the Midwest in next few weeks.
Desantis and genius are not 2 words you see in the same sentence very often.

Are you so stupid as to think that every single case has been diagnosed?

The case estimates (percentage of the population actually infected) is based on several closed population studies and number actual cases / asymptomatic cases.

It’s widely accepted by scientists that the actual number of cases in any given area is anywhere from 7-20 times more than the reported cases.

Glad you think that cause he’s going to be in the queue for 2024 after Trumps second term.

Nikki or Nick will be next in line

DeSantis would have beat Trump in the 2020 Pres election.

Are those deaths due to a contagious disease which has been controlled in other countries but not the US. Where do these people come from and where is the relation?

This is why areas of even NYC are unlikely to see a resurgence of cases when things open up further there. So if you lock down, but lack a vaccine on the other side of lockdown, you've only lost a lot of money without saving lives over the long run and deferred the time at which you get herd immunity. The key is managing the exposure, which is challenging. But yes, unless you think effective vaccines will be broadly available in the next nine to twelve months, which seems highly unlikely, the DeSantis strategy is sound.

Every time I wonder how on earth the US could elect the worst leader in history, one of you idiots speaks up to remind that you make up 34% of the population.

Read a book. Watch news. Do something to educate yourself beyond a 3rd grade level.
I agree. Obama was the worst leader in history.

Trump by far is the worst. If he is re-elected, we will all be dead. I’m surprised he doesn’t have us entering gas chambers to catch COVID. Biggest arrogant sleeze ball fat ***** fuk. And people are fooled by him. He’s still shocked that people voted for him. He knows how dumb he really is.
