Ok time for RI high schools and youth soccer to not only get soccer listed as moderate risk as MA but also start a season Sept 18 like MA.
This is great news for Mass athletes!!! Come on RI let’s play!!

          Let's get this straight.
          MA:
Soccer is a Moderate risk sport.
          We can't travel to MA.

          RI:
Soccer is a High risk sport.
          MA can travel to us.

MA has low, moderate, and high risk categories. Soccer is higher risk than tennis and lower risk than football, so it falls under moderate.

RI has no-/low-contact and close-contact categories. Given those choices, soccer is clearly a close-contact sport unless you're playing it wrong.

          That's the reason.

MA is going ahead with moderate risk sports for fall, but with significant modifications in their current phase. No heading, shoulder-to-shoulder contact, corner kicks into the box, throw-ins, and they are requiring masks. Yes, seriously.

The rules MA came out with a week ago are already being revised and only apply to mass youth soccer not high school or club. Those rules received a great amount of push back they are getting rid of the shoulder to shoulder rule and the masks. Good for them on making the effort and putting kids first.

MIAA’s fall plan called for operating under whatever EEA guidelines are in place. If those are being revised (as they constantly seem to be) then that’s great news.

thank one of the 80 public relations people on the Gov's payroll but hint - TS Soccer readers aren't influencing if Joe Biden gives her a cabinet job..

She has children - who attend PRIVATE schools and thus don't ride a bus (you know that smart guidance she put out that kids have to sit motionless in an assigned seat on a bus with an OPEN window for 30 minutes even in a rain or snow storm).

but here's who does influence that -- Teacher's unions..Big donors..the PC crowd in the Democratic party..

Hint- don't trust people who are themselves inoculated from the decisions they make for the rest of us..

having said that, blame the General Assembly..it's their job to - you know - meet and represent - well, the PEOPLE --

There are great articles like this that need to land on our Governor desk:

Your article has nothing to do with soccer. Yes newsflash we are living with COVID just like we are living with the flu every winter which actually kills way more kids. Your focus should not be on spreading BS propaganda but keeping your kids outside, playing sports, fit, get their flu shots, washing hands, wear a mask and be sensible.

                                This article makes sense: https://www.soccertoday.com/coronavirus-covid-19-impacting-soccer/

It is about soccer. It is about kids and it is not a fear based BS propaganda fluff piece being sent around during election time.

Focus on our kids please. The other states are playing games now every weekend and tournaments. Superliga stop hiding behind propaganda and give kids back their sports. Work with DHS, educate the governor. Or please step down.
