"This paper studied 100 recovered patients and found cardiac involvement in 78% of them, 60% had ongoing myocardial inflammation. Of the 100 patients, 67 of them recovered at home, 18 of which were asymptomatic. 33 were hospitalized, 2 of which were on ventilators. The cardiac issues were independent of Covid severity and pre-existing conditions."

Cardiac issues are also commonly associated with influenza viruses. All of the subjects in the German study appear to have been symptomatic. Something to monitor going forward for sure though.

Meanwhile, there have been 40 Covid related hospitalizations and 11 Covid related deaths in King County over the past 14 days, the lowest two week rate for both since mid-March. New cases per day seem to be heading back down too, although that’s less clear. What is fairly clear is that most of those testing positive now are younger and have asymptomatic and less severe cases. So maybe managing the virus response until we get a vaccine can be done with something well short of a full lockdown.

We need a placebo. That would do the trick.
