Good post. Your right. The studs of this world don't cower to the man, they are the man. Time to start thinking outside the box.

Seems like a bunch of cowards running things in RI. Called a few towns in MA who said they’d be happy to take our players. Time to start crossing over the state lines and joining the MA town leagues. Easy enough to do.

Sure, why not risk the kids for your entertainment? That will show the virus who's the boss.

So stupid. Buying into feats. Do your research schools are opening. Clubs playing. Pros playing and other states playing. Good luck Soccer RI... joke! Yes athletes go play in MA stop eating your time in RI.

Nice study comparing similar countries. One that shut schools down, one that didn't. Cliff Notes summary: No difference. No spread among children, no increased danger to teachers, etc. You'll never hear about a study like this here though. I only did because I have a professional acquaintance in Finland who passed it along.

Way way too early to throw in the towel for soccer in RI. Just silly. The Governor is planning to move us to phase 4 be end of the month. We as coaches and board members will speak to soccer ri and move soccer forward like CT and RI. We don’t want our parents bringing athletes to bordering states to play so we will get this sorted. Soccer in RI needs some major changes and right now seems to be that time. Very wrong and unfair to do this to our athletes. Time for a change here.

Is Superliga RI the same as Soccer RI? Who makes the rules on whether or not we have a season. It’s not the Governor as she hadn’t mentioned fall soccer. She’s phasing us to phase 4. So is Superliga RI or Soccer RI the same people? Do they decide if we get a season? Can Towns and coaches appeal? If CT and MA can play I don’t think Soccer RI has the right to be a dictator and make a decision for everyone. There should be a vote and towns can also opt out if they don’t want to play this fall against another town.

So put SRI in the camp of those not wanting to play soccer. Strange advocacy position for the governing body of the sport in the state.
Agreed! It's time for some new blood at SRI. Them all of a sudden saying 1-sport / 1-team is a joke and will only hurt the town soccer programs. They are clueless and not worthy of their positions!

SRI doesn't control club soccer. They will be playing, and with the club kids not playing town, and multi-sport athletes walking away, town soccer will be terrible. More kids will join C and D club teams and town soccer will die! Thanks SRI!!

Yeah let's all drive the numbers back up and shut down again because we want to watch kids play on multiple teams. Just keep watching Hannity and tell yourself you and your family won't get sick, that'll work!

                        What about multi-sport athletes?

RI is all about who you know. Political corruption even in soccer.

2020 FALL SUPER LIGA TOURNAMENT Update.
The current pandemic has created challenging times for all of us. Most of us have never seen anything like what we are experiencing.
For the safety of all our players and their families and adhering to government guidelines and recommendations, Super Liga is delaying the 2020 Fall Super Liga Tournament due to Rhode Island extending Phase 3 to August 28. A final decision on the Fall Super Liga will be made at that time.
Please continue to follow the guidelines put forward by our government officials so that we can all be safe and assist in putting an end to this awful situation sooner than later. We know that all the players can’t wait to get back on the field.
Our best to you and your families.

So they're basically kicking the can down the road again. I'm now convinced there won't be any town soccer this fall, regardless of what the state says in a few weeks. It's clear that SuperLiga has done absolutely nothing to plan for any competition whatsoever, so if the state surprises them at the end of the month, they're going to be incapable of pulling anything together on zero notice.

As we move into Phase 4 (because you know we will) are we planning to start our season Aug 29? Or will we wait a week or so pushing out the game start date? Why am I so certain that we will be in phase 4? Because our governor knows for us to get our kids back to school she has to boost faith. So expect phase 4 to begin on Aug 29. But games? When do we see an official start date?
