No 1 Pitt cancels rest of season

Crazy what Covid is doing the No 1 team in the country Pitt just cancelled the rest of their season. If colleges are doing this how is HS and Club soccer just continue humming along? Good chance many tourneys and showcases will be cancelled as we enter late Fall and early Winter (flu season).

Pitt men’s soccer only canceled last 2 regular season games because of positive case. They are still playing postseason.

Does not make any sense, how can you have a postseason if the full slate of reg season games are not evenly played?

The same way they did it in the NBA and MLB. A few teams played less games then everyone else on top of the already shortened season. The same way they are doing it in the MLS. MLS western conference is going to points per game for standings instead of total points due to the uneven games played. Pitt already qualified for ACC tournament even if those 2 games were considered losses, so they enter the postseason.

Did they really cancel remainder of season?

Or did they shut down for 7 days?

maybe they qualified even without the last two games. Players can quarantine and be tested in time for playoffs.

Pittsburgh men's soccer has paused all team-related activities

University of Pittsburgh men's soccer has paused all team-related activities due to COVID-related protocols.

The Panthers' two remaining regular-season games—against Notre Dame (Oct. 30) and Syracuse (Nov. 6)—have been canceled.

Pitt has already qualified for the 2020 ACC Men's Soccer Championship and will play a quarterfinal matchup on Nov. 15 at a site to be determined.
