Yes congratulations to them. Hysterical that they're leaving GDA.

8 top national clubs are leaving GDA. Makes sense because those clubs have many top players and GDA’s focus is just the very few, very top players. Ecnl simply casts a wider net of opportunity for the college bound player. In Oregon’s small pond, it’s nice to have both Gda & Ecnl, thus offering more opportunities to more of our Oregon girls. Both have pros & cons but both can be a great path for our girls. Pick the one that suits your dd better and enjoy.

Last year it was fun to watch the ECNL slideshow of 50+ clubs being elevated to the DA.

DA moves forward as do the leagues for all the kids US Club & USYS.

The bandwidth of last year’s movement of the Best USYS & US Clubs moving to the DA was just to much to digest digitally.

BTW, the team pictured is moving out of youth soccer altogether, for this particular u19 team playing in the DA was the best option this season due to the mass defections to the DA last year, they wanted competition and challenge, they made a choice..

Best GDA club in the country (along with half of the top 10 GDA clubs) are going all in ECNL and Westside and Thorns are going:

8 out of 30 top clubs to ECNL. That’s 27% for ECNL and 73% for GDA.

Thorns aren’t all that good so GDA is a good fit.

Financially it makes sense for Slammers to return to ECNL. Profit margins are much lower for clubs in GDA and many of the players want to play HS soccer.

Our local club did nothing to qualify for the US Club league, as expected we could never compete in the ole ECNL, the one prior to DA rapture last fall.

Today, we hope the league at least improves a little bit since we won more games in the last so called season, than prior 3 seasons combined.

We won more games in league this season, than we would of won in our own State league, hopefully things change. Because it is really silly to travel to play teams that are just as bad as us or worse. I guess we are suppose to believe the 'showcases' are the real carrot. But as this league continues to lose teams and gain filler clubs not sure what the selling point will be going forward. Stay tuned. As I have to venmo our team manager the necessary deposit for airline tickets..wait was it hotels or was it SoccerLoco apparel..or coaches travel per diem..

Can Thorns get relegated to OYSA?

Meanwhile Slammers 3rd and 4th best teams in each age group destroys anything from Oregon.

                        OYSA GDA Ecnl

So much emphasis on other clubs when in all reality it doesn't nothing to change the state of soccer in pathetic Oregon clubs.

Ecnl vast majority of teams wouldn't even crack 25 in GDA or USYS National League

Some of those GDA clubs remaining have no place being in what is (in theory) supposed to be the top league. The clubs that left are all very good, some excellent in fact. GDA filling in some geographic gaps with some poor quality clubs. That won't help the league improve

                              This is true.

If you played all the teams from Oregon against each other there would be no clear best club and no one could lie and say their league is credit. OYSA teams would beat Ecnl teAms who would beat GDA teams who would beat OYSA teams.

Then ALL of them would be doormats to any top 30 team from any league outside of Oregon.
