Okay why wasn't DiVanna a PK taker or on the pitch as a sub? She is still fast and a scoring threat at her age. Nor would have had to account for her at all times. When she is on the pitch, Kerr isn't triple teamed.

Also, why didn't coach take out Williams (who looked spent) and use the UCLA GK who has been in multiple college cup GK situations (UCLA v. Duke in 2017; UCLA vs. UNC 2018; and then some).

AUS' new coach seems to have been the problem. Not a fan. They were undefeated prior to his appointment. Shame. How many brackets did that upset screw up?

doesn't Germany have a new coach since then. They are a real threat now and are back to the old GE way of playing.

De Vanna has never been a big scoring threat and is long past her prime. Didn’t score in either of the earlier 2 games and really contributed little other than yellow cards to their game. Kerr is really Australia’s only consistent scorer and Norway was smart to triple team her. I don’t think swapping out the GK would have mattered. The damage was done at that point. I don’t blame the coach. Without Kerr, Australia would be ranked lower than Norway.

They do have a new coach since the She Believes Tourneys. They weren't winning. Now they are. You don't remove a winning coach. You remove a coach that isn't. AUS old coach was winning, handily., prior to switch.

              NEVER, DeVanna? Disagree.

Per Google: In 2015, De Vanna captained the Matilda's in her 100th game, scoring their only goal in a 3–1 defeat to the United States in the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Presently, De Vanna is the highest goal scorer in Matildas history, with 47.

Sorry, forgot to add. And wasn't she on the field when AUS played and tied US in Tourney of Nations 2018. AUS emerged as champions of that tourney (Eng, AUS, JP and Brazil). Oh wait, that was the old AUS coach.

Yes, 47 goals in 150 caps as an attacking forward, which averaged out means that more than 2/3 of the time she doesn’t score. That’s not scoring record for an attacking forward that would make them a huge threat. And if you look at her whole pro career, and not just her international caps, her record is even worse. She was a really low scorer in NWSL and W-league.

Finally, a game worth watching. France needs 2OT’s to subdue a game Marta & Brazil.

People are not happy with the overuse of VAR...using it as a crutch when calls are obvious, the whole GK mess. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/4...ource=facebook
