Who picks a league? You pick a club to suit your location, budget, travel budget, etc. and your kid plays in the league of that club

No one league can claim success after one year. Some clubs bailed after one year and some are giving it a couple of years to work out the quirks. Give it time. The one thing that is happening is the talent is split between ECNL and DA. Those ECNL teams will not be as strong in the upcoming years as clearly evident by the current U16s. Talent will go to what fits for them. It's not a one league show anymore.

We doubled the number of fancy elite players just like that. Let's start more super deluxe leagues and we can quadruple our elite players. Amazing how many we could have!!!!!!!!

I don't think can judge ECNL declining either; around here it definitely isn't. It does take time. Problem is the watered down leagues don't help players in either one. We're just creating more mediocrity

Unfortunately cutting kids hurts the bottom line.If one club was made up of truly the best players they would go broke.Because this is the snowflake ,everybody gets a medal state.Totally different soccer atmosphere in the Midwest .

Fewer clubs? Not sure if that's true but I wonder if there's fewer per population? We certainly have too many. Clubs can make money if a few of them would go out of business first. Or, just could be th clubs have a clue. Midwest, SWest produce more top talent than we do that's for sure

Clubs are making money regardless of what other clubs are doing. They don't need to go out of business.

Not sure who that poster is talking about, although CO has quite a few. West Coast, TX, FL are the biggest areas then and maybe NC, Chicago & Atlanta metros
