How about the 17 year old who played for the U20 WC team and came in Third in the golden boot as a 17. He's from Missouri and just signed in the Bundesliga. Or the six domestic pros or the six international pros on the team
Makes it exceptionally hard to believe that it is the best team that can be put together considering that a.) California is, BY FAR, the largest state by population in the US, b.) accounts for more than 10% of the population of the US, c.) has lots of big cities with lots of money, and d.) has lots of people with Mexican heritage that love soccer (and people from every other corner of the world as well). You are either born with soccer ability or you can pay a lot of money to get it (CA has lots of both of these). Sorry, that is far too big a state to not have a single player on a NT roster. I never said every player has to be from there, so great for Pulisic from PA ...... I just can't believe that the top 3 Californian players of any age, from any sport can't compete at that level (and certainly, at the very least, one of them should make it). And you wonder why the USMNT can't play?!

He's not doing anything right now, perhaps he should have tried out.

Arm chair soccer critic. I called Jack Hackworth to register your complaint. He said you make a good case but he takes the best available players regardless of where they live. Talent trumps geography. His best player is from Missouri

Does seem odd that a state that dominates the sports
landscape, at all levels in all sports except Women's
Lacrosse and a select few others would have zero
            representation.

Take solice in knowing that CA kids own the Ivy Legue women's
            soccer league.

All in, dozens of CA women playing soccer in the most elite academic
            sports conference in the US.

Yet no CA player on the USMNT.

The contrast between the two is worthy of several
            Ven diagrams.

Its not the USMNT it is the U17 USMNT. It's one calendar year

In fact the last USMNT team for the last WC qualifying rounds had 5 California residents

The U16 USBNT had 6 players from California

The U20 USMNT had 4 Californians and 5 from Arizona

The U23 had 4 California players

USMNT beat Ghana 1-0 in second game of U17 World Cup. The 17s are undefeated and have not give up a goal through two games.

Yeah i was posting at the same time. This was the thread that originally was talking about them. Mostly making fun of them because of their lack of representation from California
