They are based out of Norwalk

Never heard of them. Website shows only four teams. AC has built into a nice program in short order but there wasn't traditionally a big club presence up that way. They're probably relieved BS probably isn't building in Monroe. Lower FC is over saturated with clubs - BS, EA, Revolution, CFC (Arsenal, Chelsea), YU, Ginga, town premier teams - plus NY teams for the western half and other options in the eastern half. Lots of choices but lots of dilution too.

That's a ton of choices. Some of the AC Connecticut teams like last years U12 boys team looks like they struggled but seems like they played a very challenging schedule playing in NY leagues and tough tournaments.

It will be interesting to see if AC Connecticut can sustain itself as a strong regional player. It was originally formed by stealing teams from CFC and to certain degree players from CFC West. This allowed the club to get out of the gate quickly. However, these kids are starting to age out of the system.

They have also aligned themselves with Danbury Soccer Club. Which was a good move as the club has a ready supply of talented players. However many of these kids chose not to play regionally.

At a younger age they don't have teams at all age groups. They are missing a 2007 team for example. The quality of their young teams are mediocre

The club itself is very disorganized and is managed pretty poorly. No one returns messages. Dues are haphazardly collected. Games are never posted online. Rosters for games and tournaments are constantly changing. Practices are okay.

That hasn't been our experience at all. Anyway, I think many clubs struggle at the younger ages because there are so many clubs out there, plus some still playing travel. As you get older the options shrink. For players say U13+ that do want want strong regional competition but don't want DA (or aren't quite good enough) then there is much less to chose from - CFCU and FSA ECNL (tons of travel and expense, uncertain how it will develop), BS non academy (not good), maybe Revolution (starting to falter despite a strong start a few years ago) and EA NPL.

That's the kind of stuff that could sink a new program. If you're producing on the field that will afford you more leeway but over time they could lose substantial players if they aren't producing and still poorly run.

FSA ECNL and NPL travel much further to get their doors blown off.

Let me guess your kid is on one of the older teams, probably the 2000s. As I mentioned the teams were built from the top down so I wouldn't expect you to feel a lot of that. The younger teams are faltering

If you haven't noticed any management issues then you aren't looking close enough or have a club manager who shoulders a lot of that work. They are a mess behind the scenes. Ask around to see how much uncollected tuition they had last year

Uncollected tuition or discounted tuition? They seem to be drawing a lot from the immigrant population in Danbury and that means discounting the fees.

Good point. Question is how many are getting assistance and how long can a club afford to discount?

Uncollected and not discounted. From other communities than Danbury

Kudos to the club for discounting to some players in need.
