There are teams from 80 countries. Yeah you're going to see some good soccer, even if it's those country's B, C or D teams.

Men's Swedish team currently ranked 18th, ahead of our 35th spot.

Yes, shin guards are mandatory anywhere you go apparently.

Shin guards are the only mandatory piece of equipment.

I'd rather go to Europe, play teams from all.over world and have that experience than play at overpriced Disney at the holidays

Gothia cup is a stupid tournament, anyone can sign up and go. Same with Disney (97 flights per age group).

Tournaments are vacations ruined by too frequently scheduled soccer games.

Ground cost are 2500 plus airfare. There are cheaper options but then your kids are sleeping In a class room at a local school.
In Group play at tournament level of play is a mixed bag but playoff you find higher level of play. Sweden and Germany really support girls/women's soccer.

Definite pay to play for some teams but then there are teams that really can play.

So, how are our teams doing? How are the FSA kids acquitting themselves? And the rest?

"Scandia United" didn't do so well. But, it cost them $4500 each. Here's the rigorous team training schedule: https://scandiaunitedsocceracademy.c...tour-tour-cost.

That is a 3+ week trip and includes uniforms, lodging, airfare, most meals ...... that does not seem like a terrible price to see much of northern europe. What a great trip if you can afford it.

Would you do it? Take a trip arranged by a bunch of "E" licensed travel guides to play soccer in a tournament with players you've never met? Seems to me bad soccer would get in the way of a great trip.

If $4500 wasn't a big deal for us? Of course I would have my kids do trips like this. Who cares about the soccer!? This is why most of you are all crazy. It is a great trip probably with some friends and it includes some soccer. For a young adult it would be a great way to explore a foreign continent with some friends and play some soccer. A great chance for them to make some international friends possibly and see that the world is not that different from us (no matter how crazy their own parents are). How could that be so awful? What will you do when your kids are done with soccer after HS or college? When your kids are done with soccer will you then end your miserable existence? Soccer should just be a part of them, not the whole and this is a great way to use it to do some cool traveling. FYI, just because it isn't ECNL or DA does not mean much ..... the rest of the world plays for fun everyday and they are pretty good.

I'd just enjoy the trip and not book any soccer. One soccer match midafternoon kinda destroys the day.
