    CFC Site Info

Surfing for nada tonight and hit the CFC web site. Impressive.

Went to past players that went off to play in college. Impressive.

Saw they hijacked an entire age group. The 2009's

Maybe one of the best teams CT has ever delivered.

All trained and coached by Yankee. First by BZ and then by RM.

At U-17 they merged with CFC and DC took over.

Not cool to claim when not yours.

They hijacked 8 year olds? At what age are these kids being deemed "developed"/owned by a club?
Wow, Yankee. That claim is even desperate for you.

I think he meant the graduating class. It's a silly post. Those kids moved on to college and deserved to have their schools listed. Was YU going to list players that no longer played with them on its site? Do the Cavs list the titles that LeBron won in Miami as theirs? Cmon man. That's sad.

What club do the kids list on thier college bio? If they don't list Yankee, that's all you need to know about how they feel.

lol most of the YU U15s came from Monroe travel at U11. Should Monroe get credit for their development too? Of course clubs will take credit for players, even if they've been there for six months. It's all about marketing to attract more talent. College bios (written mostly by the players themselves) almost always list the last club they were with.

Agree...you can complain about cfc and say they just acquire talent, but it isn't like they are paying players to come. There has to be a reason the majority of the best players who don't live in Portland choose to come to cfc. Other clubs need to figure that out and address it and they won't lose players.

Agreed. Many players would rather take a chance at a CFC roster on 26 than go to FSA or OW. Sure some of it is driven by the CFC college list, but it's working for CFC for now. The fact that OW got the badge helps too. If it had been a true destination club CFC would be feeling the pinch

Let's face it, if you want girls soccer exposure you are likely to push to get onto an ECNL club - and in CT that would mean you are going to CFC or FSA. ECNL has positioned itself as the highest level of girls soccer in the country and a key college recruiting ground. With DAP getting launched later this year you are likely to see the ECNL's position challenged.....but let's debate that on another thread.

Does FSA and CFC have a lock on developing players? Of course not. But what they do have is an ECNL badge and those are not accessible to any other clubs in CT. So that leaves YU, BS, Sporting etc. out of luck.....they could have great coaches, fields, development history but all it really means is that if they develop a solid player, that player is very likely to migrate to CFC/FSA.

YU, BS, Sporting, Rush, etc. will continue to struggle, not because they cannot develop players. They will struggle because they do not have access to the top league in the country and will continue to lose players looking for college exposure and top competition. And you wonder why CFC can put 26 girls on a roster? Very simple, they have their customers by the balls!

I don't think anyone on the 27-player rosters have balls .... I think that would be cheating if they did.

Because FSA is such a bargain? Sista please. Those CFC parens know what they're signing up for. They've studied the options and decided CFC is the best of the bunch. Not even lower priced OW or the promise of a yet to be proven wonder league didn't draw them away.

Great job by CFC/ECNL marketing the college dream....they do it so well that they can convince the 25th and 26th player on the roster to "stick with it" and keep paying the $$$$.
Ah, the power of the ECNL badge.... a license to steal.

Monopoly pricing is a pricing strategy followed by a seller whereby the seller prices a product to maximize his or her profits under the assumption that he or she does not need to worry about competition.

Yawn. Thanks for the definition of monopoly, very helpful. And which club are you with and what's their pricing? We'd all love to hear your economically driven decision making when it comes to your kids club choice and how said choice will benefit them going forward. . All the top clubs are similarly priced and you want your kid at a top club. If you say you don't, you're full of it.

Good luck getting your CJSA player recruited. I hope it works out for her.

Sure ECNL and CFC sell the college dream. It just happens to work (for now).
