That is a pretty thorough and accurate account of the rise and fall of Shoreline FC in North Branford. Yes, a lot of it has already been documented here on TS. They are a boys only club and a weak one at that.

you're obviously not much of a business person. You fold Shoreline and whatever brand loyalty the families had to that club evaporates and they all become free agents. However, if you move the club to SCP and merge, then there's the comfort of club continutiy, just in a different form. How go give me 10 laps and think about this.

Didnt work so well for the comets when they merged with SCP. All of their best players went elsewhere and they were left with the rest

Neil is coaching at Rush. He is a good coach, kids really like Gina no he runs very good sessions.

Shoreline families are leaving in droves. Another example of a good coach who is a terrible administrator. BJ missed a great opportunity. If only he could have delegated some of the admin work and stuck to coaching they may have made it.

Almost none went to SCP. More went to Yankee than to SCP, some went to CFC. Remember, SCP had moved to North Branford at that point. Comets were Monroe, Shelton, Trubull etc. Those parents didn't want to make that drive to North Branford.

Most of the players are going back to town and not continuing in Premier. Says a lot about quality of players that Shoreline brought in. Several of the high school girls left for FSA. The younger boys went to Rush and a couple to CFC. I think they may hold on to their two remaining boys teams at the high school level. If they do it gives them another year or two to hang on. They have nothing built up at younger ages which is their future. They are completely upside down as a club.
