My D is going to be a trapped player next year. An 05 birth year but only an 8th grader. What are the options aside from DA?

Lots of options.

Private training
Training with kids who don’t okay high school (ask your club)
Some smaller prep schools let the middle school play with the high school

Ask US Soccer to go to grad year for age groups except for DA & elite trainings so everyone plays on the most appropriate age group. Having trapped players at both ends of high school is so dumb.

Also for HS if your school has a waiver to allow the 8th graders to play up or your middle and HS are under the same roof and principle they are allowed to play HS but that is up the the AD and coach if they want 8th graders to play up.
If you are a prep school kid and are not governed by the MIAA then you can play both for your school and club, no restrictions.

If you are a prep school kid...
That isn’t exactly the truth. Many prep schools do not allow 8th graders to play high school. Further there are some rules around that. Just not MIAA rules.

several private schools have 8th grade teams and you can still play club soccer as well, they actually encourage it.
Some of the upper school that include lower schools do allow the 8th graders to play hs.
Private training is just a piece, you also need a good team to play on and play for a good coach
